I've seen a similar issue on Acer Veriton 7900. When you unplug the power chord while the machine is still running the BIOS/CMOS gets bugged up. If your PC doesn't have a 3 year warranty you can clear the CMOS/BIOS. To do this, note the following...
1.) Unplug the power cord
2.) Remove the CMOS battery from the unit
[OPTIONAL] move the jumper on the mainboard to the 'clear position' It should be indicated on your mainboard. After 30 seconds move jumper back on original position
3.) Wait for 30 seconds
4.) Place CMOS battery back into its position
5.) Reconnect the power cord and attempt to power on the unit.
Go into your control panel and go into the power options. Somewhere there is a way to tell it when to turn off the monitor. You can change that to off and then you shouldn't run into that problem. Just make sure you save the changes once you actually make that change.
thank you for using fixya, when you turn the computer on, does it produce a beeping sound? if so, please take note how many beeps you hear so that we will be able to diagnose what the issue is on the machine.
I had this happen sometimes after a windows update/reboot. If the computer is on, hold down the power button until it cuts off. Unplug the power cord. Wait for a couple of minutes. Plug the cord back in, and turn on system.
U HAVE TO ENTER THE SETUP FUNCTION WHEN U FIRST TURN ON THE COMPUTER , PAY ATTENTION TO THE SCREEN AND IT WILL TELL U WHAT KEYS TO HIT IN ORDER TO ACCESS THESE MENUS. CHANGE THE BOOT ORDER TO BOOT FROM THE CD AND THEN PLACE UR DISK IN THE COMPUTER BEFORE EXITING THE SETUP SO WHEN U RESTART THE COMPUTER IT BOOTS FROM THE DISK INSTRUCTION
