There can be several things for that. 1 a bad microphone.2. bad switching diode. or 3 bad rx/tx transistor.. if its staying orange. the #2 is probably the issues. can you provide more detail, as will it RX.. at all.? will it work in PA mode if theres one? etc
No real solution but thanks for the question. Key the radio and look for visual indication that radio is transmitting if it is check antenna. Sometime the center antenna contact breaks which will require replacement of antenna. next I would suggest checking the micro-switch where you key the radio check for wear or continuity thru switch. If you find that it is transmitting with no audio it could be a ic chip which i would suggest contacting the manufacturer for a suggested repair shop. I hope this was of some help.
It is odd to see them both quit just like that. Were you messing with the buttons on one of them when it just quit? Did you happen to change one of the privacy channels on a main channel? The privacy channels isolate a main channel so you can talk on a channel without everyone with a radio hearing you. Make sure the channels on both radios are on only the channels and that no CTCSS or DCS code accidentally got added onto a channel. You should be able to tell by just looking at the screen and you will see the channel you are on and will also indicate a CTCSS or DCS code. Should you see either of them then remove them and retry the radio on a plain channel only.
Should this fail the you have got some major internal malfunction that happened to happen at the same time and it is time to invest in a new set of radios.
