Question about Saeco Coffee Makers & Espresso Machines
I pulled the water resevoir out by mistake too soon and now the red light keeps flashing and it won't brew coffee

Owning this machine for nearly five years, all I can say is that it is an example of problematic engineering. It does not except dark roast some of the time, and if it is very well roasted it won't accept it at all. As the machine is fully automatic, there is not much you can do but roast the coffee to a degree that will be accepted by the machine. IMHO this is an unacceptable decision made by engineers and Saeco should address this issue.

Do you get coffee? If it is just no water/steam, could be a blockge in the steam wand, or blockage in water lines. First test easy one - the steam wand. If the steam wand is o.k- then check for blockages in water lines/components ( pump, boiler, steam boiler). you might check the water hose and make sure that it didn't come disconected. sometime they wear out over time and strech becoming loos. and when that happens the maker can not **** the water through the tube into the expressor mix causeing it to make u sucking noise.

Look on the left side where the box should be. In the left side towards the botton there is a long opening. Take plastic knife and slide it in while the machine is on and blinking and see if the brew unit will cycle. The drip tray has to be in for this to work. There is a metal bar that has to be pushed toward the rear of the machine to cycle the brew unit.

Try adjusting the grind four numbers coarser and brew a coffee, if you are getting the same result then the brew unit is clogged and the screen needs to be cleaned.

In the menu there is a program below the descaling program that says Reset descale. Enter this program and choose "yes", and make sure that you push the enter button to lock your answer. If you don't it will still be there.
Also go to your water hardness and move it to the #4. This will prevent you from having to replace the boiler sooner than needed. Descale when told to by the machine.
