My daughter bought back a mini amana fridge it seems too hot on the sides and its on 6 os that normal??

Sorry but I don't recognise the fridge brand. The internet suggests these are not the things called mini fridges but in reality are merely coolers so I guess it is a regular fridge designed to keep stuff between 2 and five degrees C.

Not sure what you mean by 6 os.

Conventional fridge design has a thing at the back that looks like a radiator. This condenser is prone to corrosion and is easily damaged resulting in the loss of refrigerant. Since it was decided all types of refrigerant gas is damaging to our atmosphere, manufacturers have been increasingly burying the radiator thing in the fridge casing where it is protected, often at the sides. Usually the condenser will become quite hot until the fridge interior is down to the required temperature when just maintaining the inside temperature it will vary between warm and cold if the door isn't opened much and the insulation and door seal is in good condition.

Burying the condenser(s) in the casing makes them less efficient at losing heat and so they will become hotter than the conventional old-fashioned design during the interior cooling stage..

I hope this helps and little.

We bought a used but newer model White Westinghouse refrigerator; brought it home, plugged it in. We can hear the condenser motor running, but neither side is getting cold. There is an additional hose of...

Some fridges have an internal fan that sounds like the compressor. If the compressor is running and the fridge is any good the inside will quickly cool and the condenser will become warm. If the outside gets warm but the inside doesn't get cool it is possible the defrost heater is permanently switched on because of a fault.

If the compressor is running and nothing is happening the fridge has probably lost it's refrigerant gas. Moving fridges can upset them and it is unwise to switch on straight away - they really need to settle for at least 4 hours. Switching on too soon can damage a lubricant deprived compressor.

My fridge won't cool down or freeze

Your condenser is likely dirty clean it. the compressor could be tripped out on over load (to hot) unplug the fridge a couple hours should do it . plug it back in make sure the thermostat is on and set correctly if that does not work you will need service. Tom

Electrolux camping fridge not getting cold when running on gas, warm air flows from top vent bottom vent not blocked please help

Does it work o/k on 120v? If it does then you may only need to have the burner serviced which entails pulling the burner and jet apart and giving it a good clean out. If the fridge heats up on 120v but does not cool, then you have a major problem with the cooling system and can be expensive to repair
