Take the tv aparts, check the tv power supply board carefully for dying and soon to be dead capacitors parts components. That the board where the tv power a/c cord plug into it.These capacitors parts are dying and soon to be dead alway bulges up or puffing up on to it tops. You have all the tools and know basic electronic?Yes.These capacitors parts components must be change to fixed the tv power supply board problems, well solved those clicking noises and power up the tv.Or try website like look for and find out the make and model of ur tv and buy a whole new refurbish tv power supply board for the replacement.

LG 60PV250-UB will turn on click than turn off click, no flashing lights. Some times I can leave it off for days and turn it on for 5 minutes work than turn off & do the turn on click turn off click

If there are no suspect capacitors (any capacitor that has any dots or stains on it or is even slightly bulged up should be replaced). If no suspect capacitors are found, check the power board for mosfet problems. It is difficult to check mosfets (attached to the radiators) while on board. I suggest to check all closest resistors and diodes around each. If you find one of them at fault you are in luck. That means that you pinpointed the faulty mosfet. Replace it as well as any burnt components around it. If this does not help then start checking other board by unplugging them one by one and checking if the clicking is still there or not. I hope this helps.

I've replaced the mosfet rjh3047 because short-circuited. the new one is gone as well shorted. thing else I can check?

you must have some diagram b) must test some around components like capacitor+diode+resistor+ic+Trafo , that will be in short circuit this will provoke the short in your MOSFET transistor.

God bless you

I have a sansui tv set with a power problem . MOSFET W11NB80 in the power section is completly blown . can t get it in the local market in kenya what is the equivalent value. its a crt television...

W11NB80 is an N-channel 800V-0.65ohm - 11A - rated Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor [MOSFET]. You can use the folowing substitutions for it
[ 11NM-80, 12NK-80 & 10NC-802]. All of these are its equalent substitutions.
Before replacing the mosfet, check the entire power supply secion for any short circuit, or zener diodes faults. If any of the zener diodes are fused, it will run out the MOSET you sumstitue again. Check it keenly. Unsolder one end of each component, lifit it up a liile from the circuit board and check. Especially zener diodes must not show any leak in 100Kohms range. It is best to replace them all I suggests.
I don't know about its availability in Keniya, yet you try to get it from any electronic spare part shops. f feels any difficulty in getting the same contact [E-Bay] site, they will reach you the exact component at your doorstep. Ok.

Mosfet check

1. Switch your multimeter to the Diode test position.
The following steps are for an N-Channel MOSFET.
Hold the Black lead to the MOSFET's source terminal.
2. Touch the GATE terminal momentarily with the Red lead.
3. Then touch the DRAIN terminal with the Red lead without touching the GATE terminal with your fingers.
The multimeter should show a low reading now. (The MOSFET is now ON)
4. With the RED and BLACK leads still connected to the DRAIN and Source terminals of the MOSFET, now touch the GATE terminal with your finger. The Multimeter should immediately show an open cct. (The MOSFET is now OFF)
This is a very simple way to test a MOSFET.

Trying to find the right FET to replace burnt up ones with

hafler use international rectifier hexfets. there is alot of confusion what constitutes a mosfet amplifier.
if the outputs are mosfets instead of bipolar transistors, it is a mosfet amp.
some designs are using mosfets to drive the switch mode power supply, but use bipolar output transistors.that is not a true mosfet amp.
you need to go to an electronic supplier for the repair industry.
or the manufacturers warranty depot, who will be able to order them.mosfets are very high current devices, you have to ask ...why did they fail. if they are the switch mode drivers, there is bad capacitors in that circuit

I have a Vizio P50HDM. The old "pop of death" occurred again which is the second time in less than two years. The repair shop replaced the y-sus board the first time but I am being led to...

Hi, i just got thesame problem as you do! The zsus board situated at the left corner when behind the tv is usually the cause. Apparantly the Hybrid IC yppd-j015b could be damaged since it is the recipient of the approx. 192v DC. There is a fuse which protects it, but at times goes off with it. It is usually caused by overheating and in my case, i took a closer look underneath the Hybrid IC and found tinny 'tainted sparkles' on the heat sink which was caused by one SMD (surface mounted device)capacitor. This caused a spark, or what many call ''POP OF DEATH'' ,- a short circuit , 192V TO GROUND, the heatsink!
Infact, when the person who owned the tv complaint of hearing a pop sound, when i opened the tv myself and switched it, i could see that it came on, there was sound, faint picture exactly as you described but as i was gazing, i SAW the spark, again but this time even the faint picture disappeared.
It was a good thing that i saw the spark! Now what had happened was that the first pop did blow up low value smd resistors and MOSFET smd in the Hybrid IC yppd-j015b but kept the tv on with no picture so the second time i saw the spark made matters worse, the fuse went off and other MOSFET sms (s).

Now in all of this, you have to have more than basic knowledge of electronic repairs to even start opening the tv because of many reasons:.Anti static components, MOSFETs,etc just to remove the yppd-j015b hybrid ic without the proffessional desoldering equipment, feels like battling with a puckupine! Because of lack of proper desoldering equipment, most technicians advice people who dare try to REPLACE the Z SUS and Y SUS boards.

If you can, just make sure you replace the bad parts yppd-.... included and place anti heat isolation underneath the ic or add two more super quiet fans to cool off.

Before replacing parts, take very close looks at the surrounding parts for physical damages and test if not all resistor and diodes arround for shorts.

Ohhhhh noooooooo!!! Tv is a giant ink blot... Hello everyone ... My tv is a 50 in samsung model number Hp- t5044, and I bought it about 4-5 years ago... MFD is October 2007 Basically I was hooking up my hdmi cables from a hd splitter I use to split the signal from my computer to my monitor and to my Tv... But my tv was on at the time I connected the Hdmi cable to the splitter (I know everything should probably be powered off when hooking up and disconnecting cables but I didn't notice it was on....) and now my plasma screen looks like a giant ink blot.... Like the photos u see psychiatrists use when they ask people " What do you see in this photo..." the screen is basically 80% blacked out with black blotches, I can see a faint image of the menu or what ever source it's on but I cannot see much of the picture... It looks like someone threw a tub of black ink on the screen.... I tried to pull up the menu but the black is on top of everything on the screen, tv was working fine and I have plugged it in and out while on before so I am baffled as to what has occurred this time... I took the back panel off to look for blown resistors and such things, but I'm not really sure what and where to look, everything looked ok to me but I know nothing... :( also there is no cracks in the screen anywhere and no I did not whip a wii remote at it, but I fear without a solution I am about too... :) Any guidance, information or help is greatly appreciated.... Thanks in advance John
