Question about Heating & Cooling

Open Question

I have a Dynaglow Workhorse Model RMCKFA170WH forced air space heater. It will not stay running - shuts down and smokes after 5-10 seconds

When filter is removed, tends to run longer, but I can't run it that way safely.

air pressure should be no more than 3.5 psi. could be your pressure is too high and is blowing out the flame.

SOURCE: pro 110, runs 10 min., blows white smoke ,shuts off

the first thing you need to do is go back to useing K1 kerosene, diesel fuel not only burns dirty but also has a tendency to gel up in cold weather which could be makeing it hard for the heater to draw the proper amount of fuel. To reset the pressure you will need a gage, it should run at about 6-7 psi. you can order a pressure gage from mr. heater online, they are by far the cheapest I have found as they are the actual manufacturer or call 1-800-251-0001

SOURCE: E 1 error on Dyna-Glo Workhorse Kerosene Turbo Heater

Take the top off of the heater and and clean the nozzel orifice, while you have it apart wipe off the photo cell and clean and regap spark plug. The nozzel unscews and you can clean it with a bread tie.

After this clean or change the fuel filter in the tank, and finally check the pump pressure and make sure it is inline with the owner manual. This is assuming that it is firing to begin with

SOURCE: Kerosene Portable Forced Air heater comes on, runs awhile

Here is a link to your owner's manual... http://12.153.20.74/manuals/123919-01A.PDF. Look on page 8 and 10. It could be several things. It could only be a dirty fuel filter or the pump pressure may just need adjustment. If you need a part you can contact Master Parts at 800-466-1446 or you can find them on-line at www.masterparts.net. I hope this helps!

Propane torpedo lights but doesnt stay lit

I'm confused. First you listed this as a propane torpedo heater. Second, it's a problem with and All Pro PK115 T Forced Air Kerosene Space Heater. And finally, you say "propane torpedo lights but doesn't stay lit."

Which is it? To really help you, I'll need the correct manufacturer's name & model number. And whether it's propane or kerosene fired?

Thanks.

When I push my red button in it shut off the fuel and wont stay going

this is caused by a bad thermo coupling. just to make sure that it is in fact bad - hold down the button for about 20 seconds while the heater is going and if after that amount of time the unit still shuts down when you release the fuel button - then replace the thermo coupling.

Reddy heater 70,000 with factory thermostat will run a few

Set the pump pressure. If correct check the nozzle. Desa recommends annual replacement.

A worn nozzle creates a spray pattern, where a good nozzle creates a fog. With a coarse spray pattern poor combustion results in an off color flame, . The photocell doesn’t like the color, sends a signal to the computer which shuts everything down. That’s the job of the electronics.
