It is not an easy shut. They do this on purpose. Try using force at the point of contact. Do not slam.

Recently, my Asko W6661 started making high pitch squecking / squeching noises while the drum is rotating during a wash cycle. This sound is not apparent during a spin cycle, where the drum is rotating...

First: Check the belt. A quick spray with some specific belt lubricant may fix the issue (or you could try another belt) or...
This could be a sign of bearing failure in these machines. If the belt solution above does not help then I would suggest having the machine serviced as failure to do so will just result in more damage being done. The noise you can hear is flat spots (damage) on a part of the bearing

Hello, Have you checked the line fuses at the back of the washer ? The Asko washers will have 2x15amp "slo-blow" fuses which screw into a holder via a "hub" which turn's a quarter turn in or out. You will need either a replacement fuse or an ohm meter to confirm or dismiss the fuse or fuses being the problem. What to look for are 2 small gray circular button type things located by the cord with slots in the bottom for a screwdriver or flat blade of some kind to allow easy removal. Let me know how that goes and I'll try to assist you further if needed. Good luck and thank's for coming to "fixya". Please rate this info accordingly to it's helpfulness. Macmarkus :)

Hi, I'm housesitting for a friend of mine and I can't get their ASKO 5250 series washing machine to unlock to get my clothes out! It's been stuck for 2 days. HELP!

If the door switch is faulty, you can manually open the door.

Get a flat screw driver or butter knife, open the little door on the bottom left of the machine, from right to left.

this is the lid for the water pump filter. You will see a red plastic ring which is normally screwed on to the machine with a philips head screw. Unscrew the ring from its position and pull down until the door pops open.

Good luck.

The water temperature fault indicator is on

I think te problem may be the Termistor(temperature sensor) that is faulty. You need a technician from Asko to replace it.

Water outlet default

Outlet filter is located behind the little square door at the bottom of the machine. The inlet filter is in the end of the inlet hose. It is also a filter in the valve on the machine.
