A breitling watch, i need to take the winding stem out so i can fix the watch. it is a reveil quartz model made about 1995.

obviously you do not know... if you do - you will not ask the question...

now, i would strongly suggest to find authorised breitling repairer, or at least good watch repairer with tools of trade, this watch have still value between $1000.00 and $5000.00

How do I fix the broken oven knob on my GE XL44 oven?

First you need to check the value body (around the value stem) for leaks.. you can use soapy water, your nose for smell...if you suspect a gas leak... turn the gas off to the appliance (located behind the stove) and call your gas supplier or a service tech...
You can use a thin pair of needle nose plyers to hold the stem.. or an easier way is to cut a playing card in half, poke a hole in the middle of it so it will slide over the stem... cut a line for the edge of the card to the hole so you'll be able to pull the card out from under the installed knob...

Valve stem seal

Value stem seals are under the valve cover.(under the top of the engine)

Worn value stem seals will allow oil to blow into cylinders during cold start.

I have a Suzuki vitara 1990 soft top timing belt broke just wanted to know if it would have damaged anything else when it broke?

Yes . The valve stem will be bent so you will need a head job to fix them. To do the job properly replace the cam and crank shaft oil seals , tensioner pulleys and or hydraulic belt tensioner. Do not use 2nd hand belts. Remove all traces of oil from the area as oil is the biggest killer of timing belts

Value broke off tire

You will have to have another TPMS sensor installed. They are pretty pricey. If I remember right, the part is around $150. If you dont mind your tire light being on, you could have a rubber valve stem installed and it would cost a lot less.

The oven ignites when you want to start up however as soon as you let go of the knob the flame dies.

are you talking about the thermostat knob that you set for like 350?if that's what you mean then the thermostat must be broke and you need to replace it,on some machines you have to push in and turn it one way,if you don't you'll damage or snap the stem off, next time send the model number so i can look up your machine and tell you the part number

Oster 6232 toaster oven.

trying to find a solution for a broken knob, i discovered that there aren't many decent options. so i took it upon myself to find one. my father actually recommended that i post the solution, seeing that there were so many with broken knobs. now this works on the timer knob on an oster 6232 toaster oven. it may work on the other knobs and possibly other models, but i cannot confirm that. the plastic stem of the knob that slips over the medal stem of the timer had broken. i crazy glued it back together and knew that there was no way in hell it would hold up with just glue. sorry for the lack of pics on this part. with the broken piece glued back in place, i went to home depot to find something/ anything that would securely slip over the stem of the knob. i tried all sorts of tubing. copper, pvc, steel and found nothing. in the plumbing isle with all the brass fittings and compression fittings, i found an "ander-lign compression nut" 5/8" OD w/ insert. part # A-304 961-P. 634052c.jpg
all you need is the brass flanged insert. if you can find it without the nut and compression ring, then more power to you. after buying this, slip the piece over the knob stem flanged end first. i used 5 minute opoxy to ensure it would stay in place. 7c9f2a3.jpg
i then used a cone shaped diamond bit in my dremel tool to notch out the two sides of the knob. 6be2e7e.jpg
just cut the brass down enough to match the notches in the stem of the knob. 0cdfdf7.jpg
and there you have it. sorry for the 2 blurry pics. hope this can help some of you.

I pulled on the crown and it came off the stem

Do not open the watch yet, as you do not know how to get the stem out.
Take an eyeglass and examine the crown. You will find the small hub in the centre of the crown. If the centre of this hub is hollow and you can see the thread in it- you will be able to screw it back on stem (all watch crowns are screwed on to stems, never pressed).
If the centre of that hub looks filled with metal, then the stem end is broke and you will need replace stem AND crown (the metal filling the hub is the broken end of stem).
In case if the crown still in tact, let me know by asking questions and I'll guide you through all the process HOW TO.

Kenmore simmer select board problem The SS button tripped my house breaker. I haven't used SS since (button is now 'off') so not sure it is working - pretty sure it is not. Otherwise, all of the stovetop elements seem to work fine. The 'Element on' light works (on when any burner is on, off when they are all off). However, none of the 'hot surface' lights work for any of the burners now. Is this just a SS board component that needs replacing? Or the whole board? I do have meters and experience to fix if someone can link me to a schematic or steps to test. Whatever happened to the SS board appears to have prevented the 'hot element' lights from working. EDIT: the model info is 790.96223409 **************************************** EDIT2: I found a schem for this; as the SS board indicator light shares neutral wiring with the other lights, is there a simple fix to disconnect one of the connections to this part of the board wiring, so that those lights will work again while I'm waiting for a new board? Pretty sure I have a bad relay on this board and will need to swap the whole board out, but I'd like to be able to check that those other indicator lights and circuits are ok so when I do get a new board, everything will work normally. ************************************** EDIT3: I rechecked the stove around lunch today; it does look like my 'hot burner' lights now work (maybe a relay was partly stuck open or shut on the board?); so, I may only need a new SimmerSelect board. I'll check for anything that looks burnt when I have the time to pull the oven out and open up the back. I did get the time to turn on each burner to 5 or 6, make sure they all got hot, and then turned down and they do all seem to regulate ok. If my 'hot burner' lights stop working again/become intermittent, I'll drop another update here. It does appear these boards are a common problem - are the relays not designed for 'hot switching' on these, and the burner switch should be completely 'off' when tripping the SS switch? That would seem to be a design flaw, if so.
