You have a defective bottom door switch or possibly its mount is loose.

I have a Frigidaire Microwave oven CFMV156DBA. The clock, lights and the keypad works. The turntable does not turn and it does not heat

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch or a loose door switch mount, which are pretty simple problems to fix.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

Door switch or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

If the switch mount is broken, it's usually more economical and safer to add a dab or two of hot glue to the mount to secure the switch. Let it cool for about 30 minutes before using.

One test that sometimes helps is to gently lift up (and/or push down) on the door or handle as you try to start it. If it works or tries to work, then it's a door switch mount or door alignment issue.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If you only need a switch, you can order a universal type here for $5 postpaid.

Frigidiare over the range microwave problem?

It depends on whether it is an obvious sagging of the door but I suspect the safety switch inside of the housing may simply need adjustment.
I don't know how much hassle it is to uninstall the box from its OTR position but the housing itself shouldn't be difficult to remove and once the housing is off, you may be able to see the door switch well enough to ind if it has any range of adjustment. If the door switch is made as many, it may have a metal 'leaf' actuator that can be bent slightly to put the leaf back in the path of the door.
If the hinge is somewhat weak by design, then replacing it and doing nothing else may not be a very permanent 'fix.'
It's unfortunate that the structure of the unit's housing design is so poor as to allow something this primitive to happen.

We have a frigidaire microwave and in the middle of cooking, the motor stopped. The clock and cook time continued to work, but no heat. We've tried using at half power, on defrost, etc. but nothing seems...

What you are saying the microwave stop work like heating, but but the clock counts down.If it is stop heating then there is a rest on or near the magtrogron.Once it cools down it start back heating.Open and close the door will reset power to the magtrogen{sorry about the spelling].Look for loose connector,or replace the click zon it should have a small red buttom on it.

Door is loose, microwave won't cook

The door switch mounts and possibly the door hinges need to be adjusted them tightened.

Unplug the oven, remove the cover if it's a counter top type or remove the grille and control panel if it's an over range type.

Then close the door and watch how the door latch heads on the door mesh with the door lathes and door switches.

Also check the hinges.

If the door latch heads are not activating the upper & lower door switches, then adjustment will be needed.

Over range microwave not working properly

Generally, the most common causes of a failure to heat are:

- bad door switches or door switch mounts
- loose connection at the magnetron
- problem or loose conneciton on the control unit circuit board
- bad magnetron or other high voltage part

At our site, we have critical safety information, info on door switch diagnosis and replacement, and disassembly information.
