Re: what do i do when it says dl?
Usually when it is clicking when it fails and gives you an f11 error code. This means you have a fauly ccu board. it is a communication error between the computer and the door lock. I am 99% possitive you need a new controller.

wash another load and see what happens the f-dl code means door lock problem and f-11 means communication error between top control board and the bottom control board if you can wash a load completly everything will be ok but you can't let me know and we see where to go from there
On Whirlpool duets, and the Kenmore HE series starting with the HE3 - HE5. A common misdiagnosis is to replace the door latch when the user gets an F-DL error, or an F-11 & F-DL intermittently. If the machine shows an F-DL, and you hear a distinct clicking as the board attempts to latch the door just prior to the code appearing, the most common problem here is the door lock relay on the CCU. A good way to confirm is: after pressing start, while the CCU is attemting to latch the door, with the top cover removed, gently tap the top of the CCU with a screwdriver handle (or any blunt object) this will often free the relay. I've seen MANY door latches put in, only to replace the CCU a few days later.
This can be a door lock or a main control, or both. Whirlpool builds this and there is no good diagnosis to determine what part is bad. I usually replace the door lock mechanism first as this is the most common cause and also the cheapest. However when you tell me that you have had it work by moving the wiring terminals at the main control, (also called a ccu), then I would change your ccu first. This is a great washer and we suspect that a lot of these repairs are not the manufacturers fault but are actually caused by power surges. Buy a 2000 joule or higher, wall mounted surge protector from you local harware store and plug the washer into this to prevent this repair from recurring. This repair actually happened to my own washer and I was tapping on the control to get it to work for a while, but finally replaced it. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists
unplug washer over night. plug in try drain and spin, if it works after finish try to restart. an 11 minute stall is likely error code f / 11 or dl code starts intermittently then goes out possible ccu board under top at rear
it looks as if your having a communication problem between your central control unit and your motor control unit.check wiring connection between these two components.if wiring is ok then you will have determine which of these components is malfunctioning.you can also remove kick plate and remove service manual located on either side at bottom.this should give you some help.
