Cd jam in panasonic sa-pm17

Cds were jammed in panasonic sa-pm17. I pulled them out with needlenose pliers. Now 5 trays won't go back in. The first tray is the worse making a horrible clicking noise. Is there a way to reset everything? Thanks.

Hi. Got the very same problem. At christmas I had loaded two cd's in one of the racks. I used needlenose pliers as well and pulled each of the 5 trays out (well past their runners). Tried to dismantle the unit with the 3 screws on each side, but gave up. When I turn the power off and on and do a cd check the "hello" flashes then nothing, tried cd/change power button and basically everything else. All I can say is go easy on the unit as I was to forceful an now think i've ruined it. I'm gutted as this was a great mini hi-fi and has served me well. Best of luck with ur Panasonic, cheers.

Why won't the CD drawer and Cassette door open on my Panasonic SA-PM17 CD Stereo System?

This does happen with CD trays, it's quite common. I can't remember the exact mot common cause, but it's some worn out part, such as a small (plastic) cog wheel. Search on "cd tray won't open" on the internet to find a multitude of reasons, most to do with computer CD trays, but I guess the mechanism is essentially the same. These may also describe ways round the problem.
Some CD players have a small hole on the front near the tray into which poking a straightened out paperclip should enable you to open the tray by a few mm, enough to be able to pull it open in an emergency - but it's awkward to do on a frequent basis.

DVD changer is jammed on my Panasonic Sa-pt770 Receiver

if you have 2 tiny screw drivers, if not, the tips of a butter knife might be skinny enough, you can try to insert them a wee bit into both sides of the tray and pry outward, carefully of course, and unjam the tray

OK I fixed it. One of the CD's had gotten stuck between trays in the loader. I pulled out a few CD's by forcing open the trays gently. However even after removing as many cd's as possible one was still stuck. 1. Remove screws holding cover plate on in back and sides. 2. Remove cover. 3. Lift face plate latches and lift over top of unit. Remove serial cables from face plate and place aside. Remove screws from back of CD tray unit and bend back metal tab with flathead screwdriver. Lift CD unit up on one side so you can get your fingers up inside underneath and push stuck cd towards tray openings. You can gently force top few trays out. You may need to shake unit so that stuck cd reaches open end. Pull out CD. 4. Replace faceplate and connect serial cables. Plug in power cord, power on unit and make sure trays will eject normally. 5. Put it all back together!

Jammed CD tray system

You may have a disk that fell out of tray onto lower mechanism. Be careful when disassembling mechanism as they have timing gears that are positioned to perform certain functions

The CD changer for my stereo (SA-PM193)jammed when I was changing from one CD to another. It looked like a CD was crooked, and I pulled it out. Then the tray wouldn't go back, so I pulled each tray except...

The CD loading mechanism needs to be rebuilt. Hopefully when you pulled out the trays, nothing was broken inside. Assuming it only needs to be retimed, you can expect to pay the local labor rate. If you broke any of the gears, the parts souldn't exceed $15 or so. Most of the gears and parts are rugged. Look for a Panasonic authorized service center for the repair.

Blocked dvd tray

The disk inside is most likely jammed. It would be best to take it to a repairman, or you can try to remove it your self.

Disc tray 1 is blinking with 2 ovals around it, tray not in right Panasonic SA-HT680

I had a jammed disc that was causing this same error message. To remove the jammed disc, remove the top by removing the screws and then you can remove the stuck/jammed discs. For the Panasonic SC-PT750 there are 7 screws, three small silver ones on the back, then 4 black ones, two on each side, all philips head. Once you have that off, gently pry it off starting from the back, the cover is actually hinged into the front plastic piece of the player.
