Question about Water Pik Waterpik& Elements& Handheld Showerhead

1 Answer

I have one turn handle in the shower. When I turn it to the right for cold wter, the cold water comes out fine - good pressure. When I turn it to the left to get some hot water, the water goes down to a messy, low pressure type trickle. What is the problem? Can I fix it myself? If so, how? I really have no experience with plumbing.

Alot of newer shower controls have a tempering valve on them. You need to open up the front of the unit (hopefully you have your owners manual and adjust the inner workings) this should solve your problem

Low hot water pressure on Moen Single-Handle Shower Only posi-temp shower control. Cold water pressure is fine. Hot water pressure elsewhere in house is ok. Cold it be the cartrige -- lime buidlup, etc.?

I think you are on the right track. The first thing I would do is change the cartridge. While you have the valve apart examine the inlet ports as good as you can to see if there is any mineral buildup. You can use a short length of a small gauge mallable wire to run into water ports to se if you can break anything loose. Another thing you can do is to turn supply stop on slightly while you have the valve disassembled to wash any particles out. Hope this helps you and thanks.

When turning on the shower faucet there is no hot water.

Can you remove handle , behind handle there should be a dial to move to increase hot or cold supply.

Remember where you start and remove it and replace a 1/8 to 1/4 turn counter clockwise, just put handle on try it and see if it changes and adjust accordingly.

The shower has very low pressure in the cold water and hot water is fine

If at one time there was good pressure on the cold water shut of water supply remove the cartridge from the valve (under the handle) and then turn the supply back on (just alittle) to flush out and reinstall. I hope this has been helpful if I can help further please let me know. Please rate if the information has been helpful. Good Luck and have a great weekend.

Moen Single Handle Shower Faucet-turn on get cold, little hot

You can try to rotate the first plastic ring to the left of center a few teeth, this will let the handle advance alittle more to the hot side.

Not enough hot water, has to do with a shower valve

Hello, first if any water supply hot or cold is turned off, you will experience trickling as you mention. You must have both cold and hot in order to adjust the temperature on your valve. if you had a plumber intall this unit you should ask him to adjust it. Otherwise here is how:
Rotate the handle counterclockwise to stop and let water run till cold water is purged, check
temperature. Rotate handle to off, remove handle parts (see Disassembly in your manual) and temperature limit stop, rotate clockwise to decrease and counterclockwise to increase maximum hot water temperature, reinstall temperature limit stop and handle (TIP: Do not screw handle in until desired maximum temperature is achieved) Repeat steps until desired maximum
temperature is achieved

No water coming out of my Kohler Forte R10275-4-BN shower valve

This is a pressure balancing valve that needs both cold and hot water pressure to operated. It is an anti-scald safety operation.

Good Luck, Phil
