Question about Samsung 50 in. Plasma TV
Capacitors do not get"fixed" if bad they get replaced----Not real hard as only each have 2 leads soldered in --one marked with a minus and the other a plus.
Also the value of the part and the working voltage are marked right on it.
take a good look and if need advice let me know.

It sounds like your TV is set at Shop Mode. To veify that turn on your TV and press the info button on your remote, some info will be displayed, If Shop Mode appear please follow the next steps...
In order to change that mode turn on your tv, press the volume key (either one) on your front or side panel (Depends of the model you have) the volume bar will appear, once this happend press the menu key on the front or side panel and hold it for like 7 seconds, "Dynamic" symbol will appear at your screen this means that you are not longer at Shop mode. You can double check by pressing info button at your remote

SOURCE: 42 inch plasma wont turn on
I may have the fix.... Fixed two of my 50 inch plasmas that stopped turning on 1 year after I bought them. They both wouldn't turn on.... LOL Just gave me the black screen of death and a red blinking LED when I tried to turn on. I have pics and step by step instructions. Your time and under 40 bucks is what you'll need. I fixed both my sets for 80 cents. You can fix yours too.... I too got the it would be better to replace it than to have it fixed lie told to me too. I held out to the bitter end. Glad I did....

At this point it appears that your main board is probably bad. You most likely have a 5 volt scource going to the main board but its not powering up the set. The main board is part number BN94-00796A.
You might want to have a technician look at the TV to verify this as the issue before purchasing it. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you.

Testimonial: "I was extremely grateful to have a response in such a short amount of time, as soon as I replace the part that was suggested as bad to me, Ill post."
The power supply in many of Samsung’s TV's have capacitors installed that are rated for 10v that feed a 12v bus causing them to bulge or fail. If you are out of warranty, get someone who understands electronics to fix it.

You TV need some capacitors changed on the power supply. I have a tutorial on this repair published in my Tips & Tricks. You can save about $170 by doing this yourself, it's fairly simple if you can use a screw driver and a soldering iron. I hope this was helpful.
