SOURCE: Ref: Stihl FS46 string trimmer. Broken Flex shaft.

Remove orange sheild, remove single screw holding head in shaft then grab head with pliers and twist side to side until complete head is free. You should then be able to grab part of shaft. On power head loosen screws {about one turn each} that hold two white case halves near trigger,I think there are four, then there is a single torx screw on the bottom of lower case half in the middle that must be taken out to allow tube to be removed.Romove flexshaft from top.Check 4 plastic burnt to flexshaft,if there is you must replace tube liner as well, usally around bent part of tube the liner will go bad.

SOURCE: I have a Husqvarna trimmer model # 128LD.I want to

If you have the 128LD from Lowe's, Tractor Supply or Sears you can use TrimmerPlus attachments, any MTD manufactured attachments should work.

1. [Broken Throttle cable?] I would start by making sure that when you press trigger you see the throttle cable moving linkage on carb.

2. [Spark arrester clogged?] There is a small metal screen at muffler that is known for getting clogged with carbon deposits and will prevent air/exhaust from leaving engine properly, causing it to bogg down. Try removing it and test run, if that fixes it clean or replace spark arrester.

3. [Incorrect spark plug?] If spark plug was changed recently and is not the correct one for this model trimmer it can do that. Or, if spark plug is fouled(too much carbon built up/or incorrect gap).

4. [Bad carburetor?] if there has been water in fuel, or carb has stiff diaphram inside it will not run properly.

5. [Needs service?] if none of the above work you may have to take it in for repair.

Engine runs good but there is no power to the shaft

Sounds to me you have a broken shaft on the trimmer. I would call a local dealer and see if they will fix it under warranty if there is any. Husqvarna makes great products, I have a backpack blower from them and my 455 20" chainsaw.

The trimmer head stopped turning What could be wrong

here is web site for parts

http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=husqvarna&mn=225+L+%281994-06%29

almost sounds like the driving drum engagement end has rounded off or the end of drive shaft broke off at either end , or the gear head end is broken / damaged

have a look at the splines on the output shaft on the gear head , check the plate that engages those splines too

physicaly take off the tube / shaft assy from power head and check drum and clutch rotating , check drive shaft end (s)

if ok refit tube / shaft assy ( make sure engaged properly)
tighten mount bolts - remove gear head from end of shaft, start motor and run see if shaft turns ok with some rev s if so
problem is in the gear head

check out website good site

cheers paul hope it helps

My Husqvarna 232R brushcutter pull cord will not start

There should be several 'dogs' exposed after removing the starter assembly. These 'dogs' should rotate into the flywheel nut when the cord is pulled causing the engine to turn. Check with a Husky servicing dealer for parts. Good luck!

I need an ''output shaft'' for my Ryobi trimmer/brusher. I've been hunting for hours - can't locate one. Can you help me? It's part number: 791-180724 (Item number 25 on tech drawing)

Did you try here:

or here:

I suspect the second is the correct one.
Try the phone; it's free 1-877-545-4110. Please have your trimmer in hand when you call. it will make it easier for both of you. Let us know the result please. HTH

Trimmer head wont spin on Husqvarna 125c. It seems to be bound up.

The drive shaft is not seated into position properly or the shaft has broken. Have you had the shaft off recently? If so, take the shaft off again and try to seat the shaft as you gently pull on the rope. If you need further assistance, just let me know.

Vibration that I hear and feel in shaft after trimmer warms up

Sounds like the drive shaft may be broken or weak in one spot. When it heats up, the metal becomes softer, causing the vibration. Have you had the drive shaft off recently?
