First chek your cables to make sure they're tight. Then test the internet connection in the settings. Restart ps3 and it should restore internet connection. If not, Cable is not working or is damaged.

SOURCE: My PS3 is telling me that it
This sounds like you might need to open a port on your router or firewall to allow the PS3 to send info to the games specific server just because the PS3 has been given an IP address the PS3 still needs to connect through your router using NAT.
I suggest first turning off your Windows Firewall and your ISP firewall then into your router admin panel and open up the correct port then do the same on your firewalls.
Next, you need to enter these numbers for the PS3 to work.. so put these in the port start and end. 80 , 443 , 5223 , 10070 (start) and 10080 (end) , 3478 , 3479 , 3658 , 10070. They should be in both start and end except for the fourth which will have 10070 in start and 10080 in end.
The first 4 are TCP and the last 4 are UDP both types are required.
