Incanto Sirius display not functioning

I have an S Class machine that was leaking steam inside the machine. I replaced "O" rings in both the steam value and the in the dispensener. This fixed the problem. Unfortunately, I let the problem linger too long before repairing the "O" rings and now the display does not function. The machine still makes coffee, steam, etc by using the touch panel from memory. Is it possible that the display just needs time to dry out or does it need to be replaced?

thanks for the comments Mr Stranger

I received a new display from Saeco to replace the old one. During the replacement, I noticed that the connection was corroded. This makes sense as the connector for the display is directly infront of the steam valve. In hindsight, I should have checked the display connector. A little sandpaper on the connector may have fixed the problem without a full display replacement. Hopefully, the next person who experiences this problem benefits from this lesson. In fact, the more important lesson is to replace the "O" rings in both the steam valve and the steam dispenser once every 6 months. Total cost to replace the "O" rings is about $2 at Home Depot.

I had the exact same thing happen to my machine. The display is blank following what looked like steam leaking into the back somewhere. Where can I find instructions on taking the machine apart and cleaning the display terminals?

In absense of any how-to instruction manual I disassembled my Saeco Incanto Sirius machine and replaced the steam o-rings. I can't post the pictures here because of space, but e-mail me and I'll send you the pictures I took and a rec step by step. Oh, and Home Depot and LOwes do not stock this size o-ring. I ordered them from espressoparts.com for 73 cents each (shipping $6.25).

Greg,

Water and electronics are not friends. I had the same problem as you did with steam leaking and the display starting to function improperly because of the shorts the water was causing. First, remove the power. While water and electronics are not friends, they can get along alright without power. Let the area dry (you may carefully try to dry it but be careful of ESD). You may also want to try and clean the surfaces as I found hard water deposits which may also lead to an on-going short. Again, excercise caution doing this.

Saeco Incanto Classic, the digital display is getting moisture inside??

I am on my third year. The valve for making steaming milk wears out every year ( I make about 4 capuccinos per day). Ouc local guy Heinz in Charlotte will take my steam valve apart once per year and replace O ring. Costs $25. He is great. If you dont do this is leaks steam and water into the circuit boards and kiss the machine good bye. I make this an annual trip. If the valve turns really easily this is a hint things are amiss.

When I try to steam milk it steams fine but also leaks steam into the interior. This can't be good for the CPU so I have stopped using the machine.

I had a similar problem with my machine. Too much steam into/onto the "motherboard" will damage the board and the repair will be even more. The source of my steam problem was the steam valve o-rings. There are 4 o-rings that wear with time and start leaking. The rings are difficult to purchase as they are a unique size. I found a coffee place that repaired machines and they claimed they didn't have any that size. I think they wanted me to let them replace/repair my machine. I wound up ordering a new steam valve for approx $50. and it came with new o-rings. That was actually cheaper than my continuing to order o-rings and paying high shipping costs. Anyway, it is very easy to take apart the machine and repair/replace the o-rings yourself. I have a series of pictures I took when I did mine and I can e-mail them to you if you are interested. I continued to make coffee with mine in the duration, I just did not use the steam function.

Does not come off ventilate mode. Re: S-Class incanto sirius mode

Try this push in steam knob when it calls for ventilate, especially if you are steaming or drawing hot water, if that works the the steam valve or the tap rod needs to be replaced.

If they replaced it by a metal valve then i think the machine is leaking from the tube.
