Question about Intel Motherboard
I bought an Intel mother board and a dual core 2 (2.2Ghhz) processor.
To the pest of my knowledge everything is working except the internet.
when i connect the cable it recognizes it but i cannot lunch any site or page
If you're using WinXP, then what you may first want to check for is to make sure that there is no exclamation point in device manager. START/CONTROL PANEL/SYSTEM/HARDWARE tab/then Device Manager. Then look at Network Adapters, if there is no exclamation point, then go into NETWORK CONNECTIONS. START/MY NETWORK PLACES/ then on the upper left hand side click on NETWORK CONNECTIONS, make sure it says connected. you should see your Local Area Connection under LAN-HIGH SPEED INTERNET. Then right click on the connection goto Properties under the General Tab click on Internet Protocal(TCP/IP) then click on properties. Make sure that you're not using a static IP address if so just click on Obtain an IP address automatically and the same for the DNS below.
