Try a Laptop Cooler with a couple fans, Is the laptop setting on a soft surface restricting air flow? If so elevate it so there is sufficent room for air to cilculate. You may have to open the laptop and thorough cleaning. Otherwise you may have a bad component.

It is difficult. You need to read the Acer Aspire 5741 Service Manual.

Acer aspire 5741 overheating then it shuts off

heck to see if the fan is working, if not replace it.If the fan is working and spinning freely, then clean the vents and remove any dust/lint.You may need to remove the fan/heatsink off the CPU and clean off the old heatsink compound and replace it with fresh heatsink compound and reinstall the fan/heatsink.
When using the laptop, make sure it is on a firm flat surface and none of the vents are obstructed.

My acer aspire turns itself of after about 30min of using

Usually,, something like this is caused by a heat problem.
Things that usually heat up in the laptop are:
- the CPU (check the fan, may have to take apart to really clean)
- the Video Card (this may have a fan but usually a heat-sink, also may be dirty and full of dust)
- the RAM (usually nothing much to do here)
- the Hard Drive (this may be the problem but check other things first)

I would check the following forum as they describe how to take it apart for cleaning and also refer to a "build up" of dust in this laptop model.
http://www.avforums.com/forums/laptops-netbooks-tablets/1057228-acer-aspire-7720-turns-off.html

Another thing would be to check the BIOS version and also check at what levels the alerts and actions are set.

Also, when using a laptop - do not cover the fan vents which may be underneath.

Good luck

Problem: CPU becomes very hot as result laptop shutdown.

Hello, i have a acer aspire 5735 laptop and it overheats... i checked the vents and i cant see through it..... please help

Most of the time laptop overheats due to the accumulartion of dust on the vents.
You can clean it by blowing a can of compressed air into the vents and thus cleaning it.
Still if it continues to overheat- please elevate the laptop properly i.e work on it keeping it on a hard surface so that there is proper passage of air from the laptop.
Lastly make sure that the fan beneath is running properly i.e - you can hear the sound of the fan.
Hope this much will work.

Acer laptop gets hot and turns off-acer replaced one fan under warranty. Still have prob. but war is out

Here's a link to how to clean your cpu cooling fan. The system does shut down due to a thermal cut off, so you want to keep the heat down. Use compressed air on all the air slots. Also open up the bottom and scrape the fan of dust, or whatever if dirty. If the fan doesn't come on you can get one online. They're fairly inexpensive.

Here's a fan purchase outfit. Use this link. If you don't see your system, give them a call as the 6530 may use a fan that's the same in another acer model. The vendor should know.

Why does my laptop keep turning off in middle of programme

Your laptop could be overheating, due to dust buildup in the fan. You can try some compressed air to blow out the dust that builds up, over time, in the fan. I also use a small fan I bought at Walmart, and let it blow over the fan area (you will be able to tell where it is by feeling the computer, and noticing it to be hotter in one area than others). You didn't mention what program it's turning off in the middle of, and, as a last resort, you might have to reinstall that program, if cleaning the fan with compressed air doesn't work. Good luck, and hope this helps.

Ok as a workaround, get your self a laptop Cooler pad, real inexpensive these have extra Fans and keep it real cool, check dust hasn't clogged up the outlet.
