Have a new laptop and cannot connect to internet because forgot password. what do I do.
Hi.......Login to your router using http://192.168.1.1 Enter username and password.
Go to Wireless > Wireless security. Your network key should be there, labelled WPA Shared Key or Shared Key (if using WPA encryption).

What you want exactly?password for what? username and password for internet in subscriber? or just WEP for wireless key password?
if you forgot the password for username and password for subscriber....theres an option,i dont know what kind of subscriber do you have in your country...if you forgot the username and passowrd you can ask in the subscriber.
regarding in the WEP password for wireless,it doesnt matter, try this..
type 192.168.1.1 in the internet toolbar
and you can see the configuration, check the wireless settings for WEP...

SOURCE: The password key
usually by using its IP address.
you will need to use a computer that is already connected to the router (internet)
open up internet explorer (or other browser) and in the address bar try the following:
also, i see someone recommends trying
it will ask your for a username and password which, unless changed during setup will be the router's default such as
both the router's default IP address and default username and password will be in the instruction manual

Since you forgto the password the best way to make this router work fine is to reset it and reconfigure it back, To reset it just press and hold the reset button for 15 seconds while the power is ON, then if you still have the setup CD just run and that should take care of everyting, but if you don't have the setup CD you can manually configure it by accessing the router setup page if you're not familiar on how to do that better call LInksys tech support and let one of their tech walk you through with that process they are open 24/7 this is the number 800-3267114..........
Hope that helps............

SOURCE: Forgot Wireless router password?
If you own the router and have adminstrative access to it, then you can easily change the code, but you'll need to connect to the router either via cable or some other laptop/pc which has the code to connect and change it in the wireless connection tab settings.
If you cannot do that, then the easiest way to do that is to reset router to default, which erases the password and you'll be able to connect to it and set a new one. Reffer to the users manual on how to reset your router to factory settings.

Logon to your router from your computer using your browser and going to http://192.168.1.2/. If it wants a username, the default username is blank and the default password is either blank or "password".
The Belkin management tool will come up. From there, go into your security and look to see if your passphrase is visible. If it is, you're good to go. If not, you can change it on that page save it and close out.
Don't forget to change the passphrase on any wireless devices you are using connected to the Belkin wireless router.
