No heat means chances are your heat element burned up

Change the square one with no reading that is your thermal fuse and it is blown.

My Kenmore Elite dryer works except there is no heat to dry.I am looking for suggestions to repair. Thanks

There is a moister sensor in your dryer that detects any lint build up inside the exhaust vents. If any obstruction is inside the exhaust tubes this sensor will put the heat in the check mode. Inspect and clean thoroughly and see if it will heat up again

Dry will not blow heat

Check the entire exhaust vent tubing before buying anything for this dryer to repair.. Most dryers only need a good cleaning to get the heat back running correctly. A moister sensor is working if the lint build up is more than just dust in the vents tubes. Any build up the sensor detects and keeps the heat off. Sometrime you will get heat for awhile although it will shut the burner down quit soon

Kenmore Electric Dryer will not Heat

Define checked everything. Usually when your dryer is not heating but blowing air its one of three things...
1. Thermal fuse in dryer
2. Thermistor in the dryer
3. Heating element in dryer

You need a signal meter with continuity check to accurately test all three componets. Normally the fuse and thermistor are in a set and cost less than 25 bucks. They are easy to replace if you are good with taking things apart. If the element is bad then you need to make sure your lint trap and exhaust hose are clean and kept clean. That is the main cause of the element burning up when it gets lint collected inside the dryer cavity.

In a pinch if the element is bad you can simply find where the metal has broken and try bending the rod so that it touches. The element has to be one solid piece so if there is breaks try and connect them back together until a new one can be purchased.

Please unplug the dryer before doing anything mentioned above.

Hope this helps

Dryer heat output is 148, but takes several runs to dry clothes

You most likely have a ventilation problem somewhere in your exhaust line. This can be very dangerous and a fire risk. You need to do a thorough check of your vent pipe and make sure it is clear and the exterior trap door is working freely.

Hello traceypecor,
I am attachinbg a link to schematics and parts list along with exploded views for you to reference but it sounds like you havge a bad thermal fuse and that will need to be replaced. The disk shaped sensors 9 reset themselves) when they cool down but the thermal fuse fails and stays that way.. http://www.pcappliancerepair.com/model-display.php
It may be item 6 in the listing
Let me know if that doesn't solve your problem and I will be happy to help you resolve this. BTW, make sure you remove or diasble power before making any component measurements of repairs..
Regards,
Rick
