Question about Televison & Video
It was working fine last night. No problems with picture or sound. Today, I turn on the power, the red light comes on but then nothing.....no picture and no sound.
The most common problem in this set is convergence---two chips are used and if one shorts what you have happens--only way to prove this is get at and unsolder all 18 pins on both chips----if set turns on then the chips and or a resistor near them are bad.
Soldering and getting at the chips requires some skill--the parts involved usually are under 30 dollars total.

We had the same problem, open the panel on the back of the tv, the board on the left, not the one with the convergence chips. Inside the tv u will see a piece of paper with the fuse info. The board on the left unscrew it and flip it away from you, the fuses to test are at the bottom, on the circuit board it will say 125volt 5 amp, and the number starts with an f. they are small and rectangular and black. Check all but the 3 at the bottom are usually the culprits Hope this helps u

Pull off the back pressboard. At the bottom left hand corner is the power cord that attaches to the power supply board. There is a white plug that attaches directly to the power cord. With the TV power off, pull this white plug up to disconnect. Then push it back in. Then plug your TV back in and press the power button on the front of the TV. I just did this and it is working fine.
