First, remove ptc overload/relay (starter) off the compressor, then check compressor terminals on compressor by taking an ohm-meter and checking the terminals for resistance first one meter to the single terminal and one lead to each of the other terminals one at a time, then the meter leads between the two terminals there will be about 5 to 11 ohms on the first readings and a combined resistance on the second reading, then one lead to the compressors metal case and the other lead to each terminal there should be no resistance at all,if the readings are in line then simply replace the starter ptc

Toyota curren wont start i turn the key it gives a clicking sound

First check all the battery cables for being clean and tight and free of any corrosion clean and tighten if needed, if the cables are ok then have the battery tested on a load tester, if the battery passes replace the starter motor solenoid which is mounted on the top of the starter motor or just replace the whole starter assembly....

Compressor buzzes loud & frig does not get cold

That can also mean that the starter is broken.which will be a cheaper fix than a new compressor. Also the capacitor can be broken and that will give the same results.
Please click HERE for drawing and parts( #30 is starter #55 capacitor)

Car not starting

sounds like you may have a starter relay issue or maybe the starter it self. also did you check any relays that are associated with the ignition? I am going to bet the relay or starter..good luck

My magic chef model ctn1911gew is not working properly makes a clicking sound and is not cold at all and fan on bottom is not running. please help

Are we talking about the fan near the compressor? It is important to know if the compressor itself is running. If there is a loose connection to the compressor via the start/over load relay (normally attaches directly onto the compressor), or if the start/over load itself is bad the compressor will not run. It will click trying to turn on untill the over load gets hot Check to see if your compressor is really hot. Could be bad start/over load relay or bad compressor. Try unplugging your frig for say 30 min then, with your hand on top of a cool compressor, plug the frig back in and see if compressor smoothly vibrates for at least 5 min without becoming very hot or shutting off even though fan continues to run. The fact your fan is not running could itself be the problem. It is needed to keep the freon, and the compressor cooled.

Whilpool questions

Assuming that both freezer and refrigerator temperatures have risen and the humming sound that you heard was followed by a sudden click more than likely the start device on the compressor has gone bad. This is a common problem with all Whirlpool refrigerators (KitchenAid is Whirlpools top of the line product and suffers the same problem).

I opened up my frig and the temp said the freezer was -13 and the frig is at 55 degrees. When I presed it down it changed to 2 in the freezer and 32 in the frig part. Put after about 3 to 4 seconds it...

the damper vent door between the freezer and fridge compartments is frozen shut or if motor operated it broken or the motor is bad or power to motor is missing to open and close this door to let cold air into fridge from freezer also there is an evaporator fan near here make sure it is operating or cold air wont be moved

Frig not cold compressor not running

. Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay. It may appear burnt or distorted or rattle when you shake it if it's bad. It's the little black squarish thing near or on the compressor.

Mini Fridge is not getting cold. Compressor is not comming on at all. Just makes one faint click sound and thats it

you need to go to your local appliance parts store and pickup what's called a 3 in 1 starter,it has the directions on it and easy to install and it will get your frig going again, let me know how it turns out-mike
