A bit vague, could you be more specific to your problem. I need more information to give a informed solution.
You Laptop Manufacturer should have a section for drivers and support.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

On older laptops, there is sometimes a small toggle switch to turn wireless on. If not, there is a wireless icon on one of the F keys and you'll have to hold the Fn button and press that F key to turn it on. It's also good to have a wireless router so that once you do that, you can actually connect to something.

Have you check the driver on the netwok card. Is there any lights where you connect the internet cable (Ethernet cable)?

Thanks

The laptop is probably set up on the wrong domain. This will let you access the internet but not go into the network. It is a little involved to do the first time so here is a tutorial from MS that is pretty good.
