Question about Minolta magicolor 2300W Laser Printer
Hi! I've got a 2-year-old Minolta 2300 DL color laser printer which until the last month has run perfectly. Now, when I print out anything that uses black, I get some vertical black streaks on the page. It is not the full length of the page, and in fact often is some vertical streaks going across the page, but only for a small section - say 3/4 of an inch tall (as if there was a problem on only a section of a roller). I've cleaned any rollers/parts as per the owner's manual, but no change. All of the toner cartridges have adequate levels, and the drum is still relatively unused (only 18,000 printed pages on a drum with a "life" of 50,000 pages). Also of note - it is worse with pages that are only black and white. If it is a page with a mix of color and black printing, it seems to be less streaking and, in fact, often will print perfectly. Any thoughts? Thanks! Chuck
Hey Chuck, Any chance you can post a scan of one of the faulty pages ? This will make it easier to assess the fault. Print off about 10 pages of a page that is affected by the lines. Look at each page and see if you can detect a recurring pattern over any of the pages. If there is a pattern, chances are it is probably the PCU that is marked.
