Oil leak after accident repair

I had a little fender-bender. Rear-ended an Acadian when they stopped suddenly going through a light. Thought the radiator was the only internal problem. Got all the outside parts replaced and the new radiator in only to discover an oil leak that wasn't noticeable post-accident. Apparently something got shifted around to cause the leak. Any ideas? Trying to find the oil filter to check it without pulling motor...

Will check. Wish the weather would stay warm as I am working outdoors. :(

Oil filter Is a suspect actually... any oil cooler lines going towards the front front of oil pan etc... lift vehicle and look ccareful at all areas near damaged area ...good luck

  • milespeed Jan 05, 2009

not usually... oil pump...or crank bearings (maybe end of crank got hit and jacked up thrust bearing and/or bearings causing low oil pressure are main suspects i think if this is an internal problem.... check oil filter assembly thoroughly and any oil cooler lines (if any) be sure oil level is up to be sure that is not why no iol pressure... does top end of motor rattle and clatter when running once warm or?

My turn signal and flasher fuses blow when I turn the ignition on

you have obvious short in the wiring - check the bulbs first, then the wiring. it is rarity to exchange relay - if it was not physically damaged during accident.

1997 Dodge Neon left signal lights work great. Right side blinks very fast.

Has the car been in a fender bender ? check for wiring going to the front and rear lights to see if on has rubbed into a ground wire or the body. ( even if there has been no accident.)

Trac Off, ABS, and VSC indicator lights are on...I was involved in a front end fender bender but nothing major just the fender and bumper damage. but these lights would not go off. 2010 Toyota Sienna LE...

It is very common for all of these lights to come on all at the same time. They are all related to your Antilock Brake and Traction control system. ABS = Antilock Brake System, TRAC OFF = the traction control system is disabled - either because there is a malfunction in the ABS system or you have turned off the traction control button. VSC = Vehicle Skid Control. - (which uses the ABS and the Traction Control to function.)

The most common cause of these lights coming on is one or more defective wheel speed sensors. Although there are many other possible causes as well. Your ABS and Traction Control system must be scanned for fault codes to diagnose the problem. If you had damage to your wheels/axles during your "fender bender" this may have something to do with it. Otherwise it may just be coincidence that part of these systems failed right after your accident.
