SOURCE: not recognizing new ink cartridge

We had the same problem and tried all steps Customer Service suggested each time; after several calls, it was determined we had a defective printhead... Kodak sent a new printhead, new ink cartridges w/ an envelope to return the ones I was using.
Apparently it's a common problem with this model; especially the earlier ones. Have had NO problems since the printhead was replaced.

I would suggest if you have recurring problems (even after Customer Service directives), call and ask if you might have a defective printhead.

SOURCE: Won't recognize color ink cartridge

This is a common problem with Kodak 5000 series and ESP series printers.
Check the silver contacts on the ink cartridges for small scratches in the center. The scratches indicate that the ink cartridges have made contact with the appropriate connections in the printer. If no marks are visible, the cartridge was not seated properly. If the contacts look ok, you'll have to call Kodak again. It's highly likely that the recertified printer you received was returned for the same problem. If you point out the fact that you are experiencing the same problem for the second time, you may wind up with an upgrade to an ESP5. Don't accept another printhead replacement as thiat will not resolve the problem.

All colors won't print

This could be solved, but you can get dirty. so if you want to tackle the problem yourself, use a place covered with papers and use plastic gloves. Don't wear your good pants. you need special cleaning fluid, like you can buy in a ink refill store. A serinse will be handy too.
If the normal cleaning cycle after a few runs does not solve the problem and you are sure all cartridges are full, then comes the dirty part. Remove the cartridges, and while closing the ink outlet, shake it to hear if there is still ink, like the chip indicates. If there is ink, put it aside, till you have out all cartridges. Then down in the cartridge holder, you see 5 holes, where normaly the ink goes in, clean these holes, using tissue or kitchen paper. If everything is clean, put in a few drops of the cleaning fluidwith your gloves on, try to apply a little presure on the fluid. Don't press till the cartridge holder braks, just a little presure. fill the 5 holes with the fluid. (The one or two colours that print correct, you can skip.)
If there was enough room, to work along side this or these cartridges, you could leave them in place.
Then put back all cartridges and start a set of cleaning cycles, or just start printing a colour picture, telling the printer you are using high quality photo paper, but jus use plain paper, because first all the cleaning fluid needs to pass the heads.

When you think collours are comin back, check the head alignement to see if all nozzles are clean.
Even if you don't need to print, switch on the printer at least once a week, to keep the nozzles open.

My Pixma MG5250 has run out of Cyan ink, how can i continue to print with just black ink?

With the canon single ink inkjet printers it is not possible to use only the black cartridges for printing. You will have to put a new cyan cartridge into the printer to continue printing.

ESP 7250 Not printing the gray color on the test page

Not much to go on. If you mean the black cartridge is not giving any ink, and the printer does not say the cartridge is empty you still have a problem. But it is possible to solve.
If I'm guessing right, remove the cartridge with the black ink and look in the printhead. You see the little pipe sticking up, where the black ink is going in. with a dropper, just do a few drops of cleaning fluid on that pipe and replace the cartridge. Than let the printer print some black pages, till the black ink is coming through.
It also could be the cartridge with the black ink is empty or dried. If you shake (take care you will spray ink if you don't seal the ink outlet) and you don't hear any ink in the cartridge, unless what the computer or printer thinks it still is empty.

My canon MP280 printer keeps giving me an error number P02. There is nothing stuck in the printer, plus I put in new ink cartridge to see if that made a difference. What else should I try?

I had the same error, did the reset and only got another error, e04. I then removed and carefully cleaned the cartridges and the metal points in the printer that read them. The printer reset itself and worked fine afterwards.

Status light flashing continually

so this is a printer? Sometimes printer cartridges can be placed and misaligned. As well as contacts might be dusty. Check to make sure all the metal contacts are securely touching the pins of the printer. If this continues to be a problem, you may want to contact HP for support, as this may be a hardware/electronic problem. Also, make sure the printer cartridge that you're using is authorized/compatible for your printer. Some 3rd party companies claim their cartridges will work, even though they won't. If you have an HP printer, buy HP ink (yeah, it sucks, but that's how they get away w/ their $40+ ink prices)
