Dead remote for ByD:SIGN under counter 7" lcd combo
What replacement remote is compatible to this unit? I've tried to train a couple remotes, but I fear either proprietary signal, or remote assembly in side tv is dead. What thoughts do you have besides junking it for channel 3 usage only, using cable box? Thanks a bunch, and Happy New Year from Minneapolis! Steven

Hello,The first thing to do is to check to see if the problem is with the remote or the TV. You can check to see if the remote is sending a signal. The easiest way to do this is to take a digital camera or a cell phone with a built in camera. Point the camera at the top of the remote and press then press any key on the remote control. If the remote is sending a signal you'll see through the phone or camera screen a light illuminate on the top of the remote. If you see this light then the problem is with the TV. If you don't see this light you will most likely need to replace the remote with a universal remote or provide a model number to see if an original is available.
Take out the battery an hour, put in back in,have the same problems. The remote is dead.Try website like Remotes.com to buy an exact remote.Yes,u can use the manual control buttons on right side of the tv,but a little hard.
If your brand of TV does not respond to the remote control after trying all of the codes listed, or if your brand is not listed at all, try searching for your code.
1. Turn on your TV.
2. Press and hold SETuntil the Red Light blinks twice, then release SET.
3. Enter in 9 - 9 - 1. The Red Light will blink twice.
4. While pointing the remote control at the TV and press and release the CH + key until the TV turns off. (Note: You may need to press [CH+] numerous times).
NOTE: In the search mode, the remote control will send IR codes from its library to the TV.
5. Press SETonce to lock in the code. The Red Light will blink twice.
what you can do is get a remote for the same kind of tv.. it doesnt have to be yours but try somebody elses remote for the same type of tv.. i know this works for the three or four samsung tv's i have in hy house
I bought 40 byd:sign 23" LCD screens from them about 1 year ago and installed them in a hospital enviorment. The sets are starting to fail. Do you have an address or phone number for them? I would be greatful for any help.
NOT A SOLUTION, however my remote stopped working a couple months ago. I subsequently tried several universal remotes - none of these worked. An educated guess might be that the problem is NOT with the remote control unit, but rather something inside the set itself. This might also explain why the MW24FM1 you bought "didn't come with a remote".
