SOURCE: Unable to play DTS-HD & True-HD

What do you hear? Do all other modes work ok?

If Audio Select (Page 44 and 98) is set to HDMI you will hear silence if no HDMI signal is present. I think AUTO is the best choice here.

-------

On Page 98 of the manual it says a bunch of things concerning automatic signal detection and input selection.

Initial configuration D) INIT. CONFIG
Use this feature to select the settings of the audio input jack select, active decoders and extended surround when you tum on this unit.
....

Audio select AUDIO SELECT
Use this feature to designate the default audio input jack select setting (see page 44) for the input sources connected to the DIGITAL INPUT jacks when you tum on the power of this unit.

HDMI set E)HDMI SET
Use this feature to select the component to play back HDMI audio signals.

Support audio S. Audio
Use this feature to select whether to play back HDMI audio signals on this unit or on another HDMI component connected to the HDMI OUT jack on the rear panel of this unit.
...

CHOICE = RX-V663

FUNCTION
Plays back HDMI audio signals on this unit. The HDMI audio signals input at the HDMI input jacks of this unit are not output to the HDMI component connected to the HDMI OUT jack on the rear panel of this unit.

CHOICE = OTHER
HDMI component connected to the HDMI OUT jack.

NOTES
This unit transmits audio and video signals input at the HDMI input jacks to the HDMI out jack only when this unit is turned on even if "S.AUDIO" is set to "OTHER".

I'd look in these areas for specific guidance.

Xbox 360 slim offline lag

Hi dinobots,

Do you use Wi-Fi or an ethernet cable? If you are experiencing severe lag, it could be a problem with your actual internet connection and not necessarily your XBox 360.

I would purchase an ethernet cable (they run about $10 over here in the states) and try that out before anything else

I plug my xbox into the HDMI port and it tells me "Not Supported File" what does this mean?

i wasn't aware that xbox 360 had the ability to plug in with HDMI i use component cables. the problem could be your TV doesn't support HD and if this is an original xbox then it does support HD but the 360 should support it (this is assuming u can even plug it into tv with a HDMI cord)

X-Box Controller lag on new T.V.

This may be because of HDMI, but I have seen this happen on other TVs that use coax cables. It may be your controller is getting old. If you can afford it, try replacing the controller or get the HDMI connector for the xbox 360.

I have my xbox 360 connected via hdmi to my yamaha rx-v363 receiver, and the receiver connected to my sony bravia lcd tv via hdmi as well. The xbox picture comes through to the tv fine, but the sound will...

Connect Xbox via HDMI to DTV/IN, Connect HDMI from out to Sony Bavia's HDMI/IN. Connect TV's Optical out to amps DTV/Optical in.

2X HDMI cables and one Optical are required.

Enjoy great sound :)

OH: choose the DTV input then stereo and then dolby 5.1 etc .. cheers

Xbox 360 dashboard will not show using Yamaha RX-V663

I had this issue once before, recheck all the conenctions on the tv, and make sure that the HDMI plug in for the TV * if its the older model * make sure it is placed to HDMI not TV.
Please let me know how it goes,
Thanks
