You can go to a parts site like, do a model number search and you'll get a great breakdown of your tool. You can get the parts that are still availabel on the same site or find the part number and do web searches to see if there are better places to buy. As far as taking it apart, removing the three screws on the front of the head will let you pull the transmission off the motor housing. Be sure to grease everything up well when reassembling.

SOURCE: how do I remove the spindle gear to replace the

find a schematic for your tool and it will show you how things go together. you may need a press to press it out or a gear puller. if the schematic shows spendal and gear apart you should be able to remove the gear. if it shows all one piece, then you replace the whole thing.

SOURCE: When you have the drill on the drill symbol and on

I think it is the clutch, it must be off a notch on the inside there. The drill symbol is just that, drill, no clutch, No. 1 is the lowest clutch, easiest to ratchet, (supposed to be), and they get harder as you go up. That way you don't break off your screw heads or strip out the screw heads, just nicely torque them in there with the clutch. Have you had this apart? The clutch is pretty basic, you can try getting it apart and see if something is out of place. All it does is put pressure on the check so it won't slip. Check it out.

My Milwaukee 6215 does not oil the chain. I cleaned it and same result. How do I know i I need a new oiler?

You need to disassemble saw to get to the oil and check for stripped gears. If your saw is serial 746-1001 then the oil pump drive gear NLA.

Motor clicks every turn

The clicking is probably a small nick in one of the gears, even the smallest chip can cause alot of noise or make the mixer click. Is the beater shaft still turning when you have a load in the mixer (bowl is full)
Or is it just clicking?

If the beater stops turning it is going to be caused by stripped gears, however if it is just clicking this would indicate just a nick in the gear. Either way I would recommend opening the mixer and replacing the damaged gear/gears.

Your mixer is considered a 5 Quart Professional, which means it has the same parts as a KitchenAid 6 quart mixer. The first thing you will want to do is take the mixer apart and disassemble the gearing. You will want to clean off the gears with paper towels and wd-40. Carefully inspect each gear once clean and replace damaged gears.

In the professional mixers when a gear strips you need to replace the grease and housing gasket, this is because the gears are all metal and there may be metal shavings in the grease which could cause the gears to strip again.

The most common gear to go bad in the Professional series mixers is the Worm Follower Gear (9706529). Here is a link to that gear on our website:

Also, here is a link to the service manual for the mixer, this will aid you in taking the mixer apart and putting it back together correctly.

We are one of KitchenAid's largest service centers within the US, and all parts we sell are genuine KitchenAid products. All parts are available at our website,

Thank you,

Intermediate gear and armature gear stripped on Milwaukee 6082. Is the armature gear replaceable? How do I remove both gears? How do I remove armature from motor housing?

No the armature gear is made as part of it. the intermediate gear is replaceable but you need a press. to remove the armature first unplug tool and remove brushes, then remove the 4 screws that hold the gear housing to the motor housing and pull out. the intermediate gear is pressed onto the shaft.. Let me know if you need more assistance before voting and thank you

Mixer is making a kind of grinding or metal noise when turned on. Any ideas on what this might be?

One or more of the gears in the gear housing is stripped. Here is the parts list for the machine. Take it apart and find the stripped gear and replace it.

How to disassemble Fellowes P70CM Shredder

Agreed, there is a seventh screw under the label, as wstrooper suggests. Press along the label and you'll find the tell-tale indentation!
Having taken it apart (a further 4 screws to remove the nylon housing from the base, and another seven to remove the nylon covering for the gears), it has revealas a stripped gear (the one nearest the motor), caused by too many sheets of paper being fed in.
This problem seems to repeat amongst several P70CM owners. Shame the motor doesn't have a cut-out if it hits too great a resistance, rather than strip the gear of its teeth.

Regarding the Sunbeam Mixmaster (model 2346): How do I remove the front cover of the mixer so that I may reallign or replace the beater gears?

Pry the beater release button out with a screwdriver. There are two screws underneath it and one under the motor housing between the the beater holes. This will allow you to remove the chrome front cover, but not the motor and drive assembly. Getting to the part that contains the gears requires complete disassembly of the mixer. It is not designed for service, and requires patience and a variety of tools to disassemble.

It has a metal worm gear and plastic drive gears. If the beaters are out of alignment, then one or both of the plastic gears are stripped and the mixer is junk. Repair plus shipping costs equals the price of a new mixer. This is the weak point of these mixers and a fundamental flaw in an otherwise robust and sturdy design. It is definitly not the same mixer *********** bought 30 years ago.

Stripped beater gear

It is terminal. This is the fatal design flaw of these mixers. The gears are made of soft plastic and strip easily. Even the gear housing is plastic that is either glued or melted together to make it unserviceable. I have never suceeded in finding the part from either Sunbeam or one of the many appliance repair places on the web (who charge the cost of a new mixer for repair). Sunbeam does not repair them; if it is determined to have malfunctioned due to quality or design while under warranty, it is simply replaced with a new one. I had mine replaced under warranty twice, each time they sent me a new one complete with extra bowls and beaters. Now I have three sets of bowls and beaters and no functioning mixer.

Not a easy gear to get to, entire side frame must be removed. I always just replace the whole left frame as pictured, but really you only need to replace gear pic at top, like I say not easy, take pics so you know how to reassemble it.
