I picked up a set of CTX speakers at the Goodwill store yesterday. Today when I went to hook them up to my computer, there is no cable to connect the speakers to the computer. What cable do I need?

Most likely your speakers are not "computer speakers", but ordinary "hi-fi" speakers. They do not have built in amplifiers like computer speakers have. You will need an amplifier or receiver, and a cable to connect your computer to the amplifier (mini plug to 2 RCA connectors). The speakers connect to the amplifier, too.

Hooked up to TV but can't get the sound leads to work. No sound from TV?? Can anyone advise please? Lorna x x x

u cant get sound from TV linked to PC.....as the PC's sound system use a RF connection...it does not have a amplifyer...the sound system travel in two formats....non-amplified and amplified....the sound sent from PC/Laptop it's already amplified...but the TV connector can receive only non-amplified signal(say from a DVD player, camcorder, music system etc)...it cant process the signal from PC/laptop......you can connect ordinary speakers ment for laptop to the sound out jack in the PC/laptop and use the TV to receive the video signal....from PC
hope this helps

I have sony laptop ; i want to connect speakers with .i have a question that if i do so then i need a amplifier or not ? if no then how much its max output?

No you dont need an amplifier. You can connect speakers without amplifiers to it. Even 2.1 and 5.1 can be connected without the amplifier. The max output will depend upon the speaker ratings, but I can guarantee you'll get sound enough to break your window ;)

I've connected like wise without amplifier and its working great.

Hope this helped. Rate it if it helped you.

I only have the big speaker not 2 small ones that actually go with it so I'd like to know how to hook it up to my pc and what other speakers may be compatible

Connect the sound card of the PC with a recommended amplifier and then connect your big speakers to the amplifier, you can get the big speakers working. Note that the amplifier watts must be in respect to the maximum watts of your big speakers. Either the amplifier should have more watts producing capacity than your speakers or should be of the same watts in order to give you full output volume.

Boston BA7800 PC speakers

I would not suggest it. PC speakers generally have their own amplifier built into the system and will not handle the power from a home system well.
