How can i connect my photosmart 6313 to my laptop wirelessly

Have you tried a cold re-boot on printer PC and router worth a try first then check all are on-line and communicating Can you use the PC without the Ethernet cable or a direct cable to the printer just to set it up (Re-set up).

Does your printer connect to your network ok? Have you connected it to your wireless network before trying to "find" it on your laptop?
Does your wireless network have a router/switch/firewall?

connect it by cable to your pc first to install it then remove the cable

If the printer doesn't already have network capability, you'll need to use a USB print server. Here's an example. You connect the server to one of the router's wired ports, and then any network computer (wired or wireless) will be able to print to the printer.

Use an Ethernet cable to connect the network-port on your desktop/laptop to one of the LAN ports on the router.
Start Internet Explorer.
Access the web-server "inside" the router.
Run the "Wireless Network Setup Wizard",
to configure a SSID, your level of encryption (use 'WPA') and a password/pass-phrase.

Then, on the printer, configure its wireless interface to connect to that SSID, using that password.

* Hows the unit connected to the computer?(USB cale or Network cable or wireless)

registry may be corrupt...
try cleaning registy by using Tuneup Utility...

You laptop will not be able to connect to the printer using the bluetooth technology. But the good news is that you can use the printer thru your home network by having the desktop that the printer is connected to be part of the same home network that your laptop is part of and then share your printer on our desktop and then select it as a printer to use on your laptop.

the wireless in the printer doesnt go directly to the laptop, it connects to the wireless on your network (your WiFi) the when you install the printer software, it will find it. if you need step by step instructions let me know.
