Question about General Electric Water Heaters
I just purchased and installed a new 50 gallon GE electric water heater. The installation has been completed for approx 4 hrs and still no hot water? I have removed the element covers to feel for any signs of warmth. The unit is as cold as it was when first filled. All of the hot water valves in the house were opened while filling the unit. None were closed until all had a steady stream of water. I had one issue during the install where i had to leave for a few hrs.... I came back to one of the water lines dripping on top of the unit. Could the moisture have damaged a thermostat or element during the initial throw of the breaker when turning the unit back on? Please Help!!!
One possibility: Push in the reset button located on upper thermostat.

Check the elements, if you have access to a meter to check them. If they are getting power to elements and you have no hot water.
The elements are not working correctly. I had some elements check out ok till the thermostat's turned on and the elements didn't heat.
Sounds like the elements are bad.
