Turn your steeing to neutral position
turn off vehicle
remove 15 amp sir fuse in the interior fuse panel
under the sterring column there's a 2 pin yellow wire, remove the safety clip holding it together and disconnect the wire
remove the center (horn) cover of the steering wheel
turn your vehicle on (there's will be a warning light, ignore it, it's because you disconnected the electrical) and rotate your steering 90 degrees to access the leaf spring from behind the wheel, stick in a screw driver to loosen the leaf spring
turn the wheel 180 degrees to access the other part of the leaf spring and your bag should pop out
disconnect the 2 wire connector for the module itself

reinstalling it is the oposite, just press in the air bag module careful not to pinch any wires

NOTE> connect the wires when the vehicle is off

here's the steering wheel with the holes for the access to the leaf spring retainer

I have a 1999 chevy tahoe its not a 4 wheel drive. i just recently installed 22inch wheels and tires. when a make wide turns they rubb in the front. what do i need to do?

Wheels are to wide. Trim the valance like I did, see if spacers help, or depending on how much they rub, if it's hitting plastic not metal just wait till your tires wear down just enough to clear. Every time I get new tires (305/70r16) they rub slightly on the plastic when I go up/down curb into driveway and bounce. I have a three-inch body lift too. I have the widest tires that basically fit (11.5 in or so) on a 99 Tahoe with 3"inch lift. They wear slightly and the rubbing stops. My wheels have stock offset. You may need a steering stabilizer if your truck doesn't have one already and those big heavy wheels will make the ride worse and potentially affect your steering components negatively. The steering knuckles are easy to wear out with long-term vibration.

Headrest installation

Do not remove the entire seat, just fish the wire down to the bottom.
