JS63 walk behind mower. Went thru flood. Changed coil, plug, fuel line. Won't start. Seems fuel deprived.Cleaned carb, float, reservoir cup. What to check next? Choke valve or gov spring?manual avail?

check the generator unit and the ignition system. Water in the electrics will also give symptoms like fuel starvation. If it was fully submerged in a flood, you should really do a full strip down.

19e412-0134-01 won't start. gas leaks out air

The float is stuck on the carb flooding the engine and leaking gas out of air filter. Remove the float bowl after the gas is turned of or drained. Thoroughly clean carb And bowl with carb cleaner. Reove the float {very carefully} if it is copper, shake it. If you here fuel in it then it is no good. If not then clean everything and reassemble. If it needs to be replaced, most small engine repair shops will have your parts.

White smoke comes out as I'm trying to startonan 4bge generator and when it does start it surges and the smoke is black!!?

The black smoke means it is running rich... Some have had float bowl flooding due to dirt in the fuel that sticks the float needle open overfilling the bowl. Their usual fix is to clean the bowl and the carb and the fuel line.

hi there
pauly46 here

sounds like you will need to remove carby and give a good clean and soak for a while
to remove to green gum / varnish causes blockage of passageways and fuel needle valves to stick and remain open / or closed as well as making it run funny if it runs and flood as you mention

note do not soak any longer than 20 to 30 mins in a carb type cleaner solution as these can attack
non metallic parts and runin them , use compressed air to clean passageways and jets

blow some brake cleaner through them to , if the unit still floods after this , replace the fuel needle valve and seat

here is web site for parts list and parts ordering on line

its a god site take look

hope this helps

My generator idlers up and down causing lights to brighten then dim. Sometimes it idled normal for a while before acting up again. It cranks and shuts down good what's the problem?

check your float, could have a pinhole leak causing the float to drop causing your bowl to overflow with fuel, and flooding your carb. Also could be debris in your needdle valve also causing your carb 2 flood. That's where I started with the same prob, it turned out there was junk in the bowl and the valve had junk in it too. Cleaned up and put an inline filter in the gas line and no more prob

if you are running the engine at full CHOKE, then it is flooding the engine, but if you meant off full choke, then the carb is still stopped up. Try soaking in carb cleaner overnight after removing jet & all rubber goods. HOPE THIS HELPS.

Check the oil level. The protection on low oil level may have stopped it.

Carburator flooding

Then there likely is still trash in the carb.

Or, it could also be that the tank vent is clogged, and not letting fuel vapors be expelled from the tank. As fuel heats up, vapors are created, which pressurize the tank, which can force fuel through the carb past the float / needle.

I have a Generac 15000 watt portable generator. It cranks great, but will not start. The plugs are wet, doesn't seem to be getting any spark. Have replaced plugs, any suggestion.

I have solved the flooding problem . unfortanetly you must remove the carb to fix it. once you remove the carb you need to remove the fuel bowl. In the bottem of the fuel bowl there is a electronic seloniod that controols the amount of fule going to combustion. this aria had varnish and gunk built up around the plunger of the selonoid, long story short clean this out with carb and chook cleaner and put it back together. start her up and she will run like a champ.
