Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Plasma Tv 42PD580DTA, Black and white screen while viewing DVDs or Video

Hi there,
My sister-in-law has exactly the same problem and is a common one with this unit.
I've spoken to a technician who says that:
1. Hitachi are withdrawing from Australia and there are VERY limited service centres left
2. The problem is a chip on the main board and depending when the TV was made will determine whether the chip is a plu-in or soldered on to the main board - if it's the latter, you'll be up for a main board at around $400
3. He couldn't get the price of the plug-in chip because he couldn't get through to Hitachi.

Cheers

Replace the video board, if you can find one. Letting it cool down will not help any.

SOURCE: acoustic solutions tv screen flashing coulour blue

Heya dude, iv got the exact telly as mentioned. Had this problem just recently. i tried everything, switching off power, unplugging everything. i was just about to start looking for a new telly when i tried using the remote.i pressed the menu button a few times, mabe this was a fluke or maybe it just sorts the problem out. It seems to me that this problem is a built in pixel fixer which somehow starts itself. Hope i help

Acoustic Solutions LCD37805HD. When I turn on the main power button on the TV, instead of the blue standby light only coming on, the screen turns on and flashes alternately between red, green and blue

In most cases, scree flashes will be due to a faulty main power supply regulator board. If the DC voltage comes out from it is abnormal, this could happen. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

The colour on my TV is a reddish colour. Have tried the colour adjustment. Skin colours in particular.

simple. easy. you have 3 screen adjustments. red green blue. turn color all the way down. you should then get just a black and white picture, but in your case, it will still be reddish. behind the speaker grill is an access panel for screen adjustment. remove speaker grill. remove access panel. you will see a block assembly roughly 6 inches square with 6 knobs on it. 3 are for screen, 3 are for focus. adjust until you have a black and white picture. then go into menu and turn your color back up. enjoy!
