Question about Televison & Video
Hey Will I talked to you on the phone and you referred me to the web site. I replaced the Fl231 fuse and did not understand what I needed to do to resoder the flyback connections. When I went to turn it on I could hear it recieve power, but the picture never came on. The power light would stay on for a few seconds shuts off turn back on then shut off for good.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: RCA R52WH74 (ITC222A Chassis)
no the board that has the FL231 on is the ITC222 deflection board. The other board is above the chassis in a seperate frame that runs across the set the convergence power supply is the board on the left above the board where the fL231 is. Yes the ITC222 and ITC222A are the same chassis. As for the service manual that site should have the service manual under the thomson category as the ITC 222 chassis is actually a thomson chassis made for RCA.

in customer menu under setup do you have the convergence option. If you do not it probally be that fuse. this fuse is located on the main defection to the right of what know as flyback.. which is a large black component with two large red wires coming from it.

I'm sorry, but you have no idea what you're doing. STOP!!!!! What makes you think the fly is bad? A bad fly will not let the set come on at all. If it was me, I'd be thinking the convergance circuit. That's why you have the 3D picture. If you hell bent on your diagnostic, The flyback is the most recognizable part inside a television. It's big, It's plastic and it has a big red spark-plug looking wire coming out the top. You unsolder it from the bottom. RadioShack has a desoldering iron with a red bulb that works great. Also some solder wick. Unsolder the pins and remove. Then replace and resolder. Same thing with the fuse. The fuses are all marked on the circuit board itself. Any part on the board must be removed by unsoldering. You need to trouble shoot in a better way than you are or you'll be spending alot of money you don't need to. Also, if you don't know what your doing, you can get yourself into trouble real fast and make the set unrepairable. Most shops won't work on sets that the customer tried to fix themself. You got me VERY worried. You are the guys I worry about giving information too and wind up killing themself. Please....get some help with that thing. I just don't want you getting hurt or destroying your T.V. It's an easy fix right now, but you have to know what you're doing.
