SOURCE: the paper feeder rollers are slipping and the

This is a good workhorse printer -- I serviced these for many years.

You can try cleaning the paper feed rollers with a rag moistened with a little white spirit. This helps remove the paper dust build-up that glazes the rollers and prevents them from gripping the paper.

Eventually, as the rollers become worn, (or, if they are already too worn) you will have to replace them.

How do I put out the awning of a Alpinelite 5th wheel rv

Loosen holding screws and unclip both arms
Flick the up/down lever then pull on black cord as you walk back away from RV
Slide both side arms up main arms, lock in place and then tension the awning and tighten lock screws
Release lock clips on main arms and slide them up [ halfway each side is probably best for your awning]
Support legs can be left attached to RV [safest] or can be separated and stand upright, using tent pegs into ground to secure or awning tie downs

Instructions for operating rv awning

Manual or electric. If electric press the switch located inside the unit. If manual, you will need to go to each arm and press the release clips to unlock the arms (usually black but may be a lift up lock). Next tank the long rod with a loop on one end and a 90 deg hook on the other. Toward the front of the coach at the top of the awning you will see a small lever on the awning. Use the loop end of the rod to pull the lever down. Take the other end of the rod and insert it into the black strap that should be barely hanging down and pull down as you back away. This should pull the awning out. Once pulled out all the way, go to each end of the awning. Close to the wall of the RV there should be an arm hanging down with a knob on the back of it. Grab the bottom of the arm and slide it out and clip it into the end of the extended awning arm. Push down on the lower arm to tighten the fabric and then tighten the knob. Once both ends have been tightened then on the lower arm there will be a pull out handle in the middle, pull it out to release the lock pin and lift the outer portion of the lower arm up to raise the awning to the desired height. Repeat for the other end. If it is raining or windy put the awning away. DO NOT LEAVE IT OUT! The wind will catch it like a kite and rip it off of your trailer. Rain will fill it up like a swimming pool and collapse the center tube and trap you inside of the RV.

My A&E 9100 Power awning has had a motor go out twice in three months,

Yep ~ exposed wires to the weather elements PLUS the stress and flex-action as you open and close your awnings can quickly lead to disaster (again)!

Perhaps a GENEROUS amount of clear (tube) RTV SILICONE applied to the wire access hole/point AT your Motor?

Since you are replacing MOTORS often ~ perhaps the real cause failures are the MECHANICAL FLEXIBLE JOINTS of your AWNING ~ (being) too stiff offering too much mechanical resistance to your MOTOR?

> YOU DO< have a lot of them so CAREFULLY spray just enough 'garage door lubricant' to them to assure minimal resistance to awning movement and motor movement!

Also it seems that everybody ~ including your motor mfg. ~ wants to save a buck so they substitute smaller wires (internally and externally) or any other 'trick' that will shave down their costs! So try to hunt for a older (new) motor... perhaps that will extend the life of same...

Sadly your motor looks rather specialized so finding a beefier / stronger replacement (at less cost) looks like slim chances... I was thinking of maybe a older satellite 'C-Band' dish motor? Those puppies are STRONG and built to handle LOTS of TORQUE-stress due to HIGH wind issues on the surface. DIsh motors are also VERY reasonable in cost!

Do you have a 'machine-shop friend
d that can help and make special brackets ~ and perhaps modified motors may be your ultimate answer?

How many winds on the tension spring for a dometic 9100 series awning for initial setting? I heard 1-2 feet out from coach, wind 13 times is standard

2 ft away from coach, wall, awning rail etc.
up to 12ft long awning = 8 turns
13-14 ft = 9 turns
15-16 ft = 10 turns
16.5 - 18ft. = 12 turns
19 ft-up = 13 turns.

Be real careful, !!! seen many a finger/hand injured if not experienced.

Have an awning with control panel model no

I'm not sure why you are asking this question; assuming you have aready looked for a manual winding feature. Some models have a cover plate that must be removed to access the manual wind device, however you will need a winding crank/handle that fits into the wind device. As far as the auto mechanism not working, 1st check to see if the electic is still coming to the unit ( was there any disruption to the electric line or wall work that would make the line be disconnected or the circuit breaker ? If you still have problems, l please return with a more detailed list of what you tried and what is/is not happening..
Good luck, Macgivor

Awning motor just hums

I had the same problem with 2 Somfy motors within the same week.

The motor hummed and roared, but didn't turn. Sometimes, after it cooled down it started rotating, but stopped when the load started, Other times, would stat, but then changed the rotation direction and then stoped.

The awning company wanted to charge me ~ $600 for each new motor. They said Somfy does not fix motors, but only replaces them with new.

So, I opened the motor myself:
  1. I opened the 2 screws on each side of the tube's motor end.
  2. I pulled the plastic cover out with the plastic cogs assembly.
  3. I then pulled out the capacitor.

I noticed that the motor start capacitor "exploded". So, I bought a new one for $10, replaced it (no soldering is required), and assembled it back again.

The motor runs great now for less than 2% of the requested motor price.
