Fly wheel won't turn warning for too thick material, bent needle, something stuck in machine. The machine does not have anything stuck in it nor is the needle bent.

I have done all of the suggestions and it has been to repairer who said it just needed a service, but it still does it.

  • sylviaivie Nov 07, 2012

Well, then I would take it right back to his happy little **** and say it is still doing it. You can also call Janome see if there techs can suggest a solution.

  • Suzanne RAdojcin Nov 08, 2012

thanks for your help but it does not solve my problem

  • sylviaivie Nov 08, 2012

I hate to say it but I think you have a bent shaft. I really would like to see you take it back to the "repair guy" and insist that he find the problem without further pay.

I would replace the needle anyway. It's hard to tell if one is bent or not.

Remove your feed dog/needle plate and the bobbin cover. Take out your bobbin and bobbin carrier.

Get out a magnifying glass and really examine. Look for thread ends in between moving parts.

Also check the thread pathways. Especially where the take up lever is hidden. I've heard of some ladies finding threads snarled up in that area which caused problems like this.

Good luck. If all else fails take it in for repair.

This is a protection mechanism of the machine when it believes there is too much strain on the motor.

Check the hook race/bobbin area...for lint or thread jam....also check the couterweighted cam that drives the needle up & down, as ofter thread will catch and be wound around the shaft near the take up lever.....open the door on the Left (Face Plate) and where the shaft comes through the body is where to look, move the handwheel slowly and watch for threads....remove them gently by unwinding, be patient as they may be well jammed.........DO NOT pull and break them !!

If you are convinced there is nothing jammed & if all appears clear, there are 2 possible scenarios, and I am afraid you are not likely to be too pleased by either of them.........please don't shoot the messenger.

The DC motor is failing, or
The "A" board has problems.

Janome have a 5 year warantee on the Circuit board and will replace it if it fails within this period.

This is a complex and valuable machine and may need the services of a well qualified Janome Trained Service Technician, not just any old hack repairman.

Protect your investment.

Best Wishes and hopes it's just the thread jam.

Janome 10000 - I get a warning message and the machine quits. I've had it to a repair person 4 times

If you've had it in for repair four times, then the technician is not doing a good job. Take it back and insist it be fixed... talk to the manager and relay your dissatisfaction with the service. OR ask for a refund and take it to a reliable Janome technician.

You don't mention the error message, so it is very difficult to try to assist.

My janome 11000 memorycraft's needle threader has jammed in the down position and cannot be moved

Thanks to floraq803, we have our 11000 working again. The needle threader was stuck in the down position. We turned off the machine, and turned the wheel (which controls where the needle is) until the needle threader bar was straight (approximately 1/2 way between the needle being all the way down and all the way up). Turned on the machine and the threader came back up again. Now back to sewing.
