Question about Bose Acoustimass 16 Speaker

Left Channel Not Working.

I have a Bose Acoustimass 16 system. I get no sound out of my left channel. I have plugged the speaker in other channels and it works, and I have tried all the other speakers in the left channel and none of them worked. Thanks. Adam

Same problem.  I have checked all connections, switched speaker to verify that speaker itself is working, unplugged all components for 30 minutes to reset.  Still no left front channel.  Even went through Bose setup disc process which tests each channel for correct hookups.  No sound.  Help!

Has it ever worked?

Try this - connect one pair of its speaker wires at a time and test it. Watch the polarity.

• Make sure all cube speaker arrays are connected to the proper terminals according to their
position in your room.
• Check to be sure all wires are connected to your surround receiver with the proper polarity
(+ to + and – to – wires). Incorrect wiring can result in a total loss of module output.
• Correct any wiring problems before you plug in your receiver and turn it on.

How do you know the receiver's Left channel isn't the fault? Sounds like a source issue.

I have a Bose Acoustimass 6 Series III the receiver is Yamaha 3066, this system is a 5.1 surround sound. Then I bought a pair of Bose 901 Series VI Direct/Reflective speaker system with active equaliz

The setup is possible, but with several compromises. First off, to use the active equalizer, you'll need to insert this into one of the 2 channel AV channels limiting your listening with the equalizer to stereo only. The acoustimass subwoofer acts a driver/power regulator for the little cube speakers. It probably will not be able to drive the 901s at the correct level when attached to the Acoustimass unit as front left/right speakers. You could try running a dedicated set of speaker leads to the 901s which may work and still allow surround sound, but you'll lose the equalization capability on the 901s.

Hi, I bought a Bose acoustimass 16 - 6.1 channel, iam curious to know which receiver is suitable for that.

I would get a receiver that puts out a little less power than the speakers can handle. This will prevent you from blowing them by sending too much power to them, but will still send enough power to make them sound good.
An example would be, if you're speakers have a combined power of 500 watts get a receiver around 495 watts or a little less.

@I got a bose acoustmass 7 it has three inputs left right center, and three outputs left right center dont have paper work I need like a diagram or instructions on hooking it up please help.

you need to run the left speaker output from the amp to the left speaker input on the Bose, the right speaker output on the amp to the right speaker input on the Bose, the center channel output on the amp(assuming it has one), to the center channel input on the Bose...then the right output on the Bose , to the right Speaker..the Left output on the Bose to the left speaker...and finally the center channel output on the Bose to the center speaker

Is the subwoofer from the Bose acoustimass 10 series IV Home Entertainment Speaker System a power sub?

The entire speaker system is passive. That is, it requires amplification for each channel.

From the manual: "Compatible with A/V receivers rated from 10 to 200 watts per front channel and 10 to 100 watts per rear channel; rated from 4 to 8 ohms".

How do I connect my Acoustimass® 5 Series III Stereo Speaker System to my Onkyo SR506 av receiver?

Well, first of all this speaker system is designed to give you a subwoofer where you do not have a sub-woofer output on your receiver/amp. However, that is not the case with the Onkyo. The way I would set it up (only because of the speakers you have) according to the Acoustimass Manual. You take the left and Right "Speaker" outputs to the Left and Right input on the Acoustimass and the speakers crossover does the rest. The Onkyo is designed to have a powered subwoofer so in this format you would just tell the receiver to turn off the sub channel which would tell the Onkyo to send the low end to LR. That should do it.

Dead left channel on Bose Acoustimass 6

Hello
This is not so much my expertise, but i wouldn't say that is is a through away. I had a dvd player which did exactly the same, but my warranty was just over, so i had a look at it and found that if you follow the power line on the circuit to the channels of your speakers(You can easily find it) you can check if the left channel's capacitor seem to be broken(You can usually see it) and then just replace it. Otherwise it could just as easily be a one of the ic's that broke(You can see this easily). I would not through it away, just take it to any electronic repair shop close to you, if your problem is what i mentioned it would not be expensive at all to fix>

Hope this can help you.

I lost sound on one side of bose stereo system., Seems its the power ouput on the right side speaker, i changed speakers and the right one works when plugged into the left output. How do I open the bose...

first lets check
no need to open any thing

1) just trace the wire of working channel and plug out that and connect to opposite side of that channel

for example: if front left is not working, remove pin of front right and plug it into front left

after that listen the sound if front left is working then no need to open amplifier just check the wires of satellite speaker which is not working

how to check broken wire:

1) just observe your speaker nearly if you found any screw holes open it, if u can not find any screw holes remove front net which is fitted by press lock or any stepped groove, you can remove that and if you are removing front net you have to open speaker from casing then after you can find speaker's wire shouldered or bolted to it just check wire and go on after that u'll be sure that weather your speaker is failed or wire!!!

enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bose acoustimass 15 series 1 channel loss

Sounds like you may have a blown output transistor or chip, which generally show no external signs of damage. This would take an experienced technician to find and fix, and I commend you for knowing to check the speakers, receiver and cables through substitution! If you're handy with a soldering iron and can find the parts, try replacing the output transistors or chips in question. These are what usually fail in audio power amplifiers - also check any power resistors for opens - some of them are designed to act as fuses to protect the more expensive components.
