SOURCE: CANON PRINTER MP610 ERROR
That's a purge drive error, indicates you need a new purge assembly, the part that cleans and prime the printhead, on the right side. It could also have a paper scrap or something blocking it's operation.

That error means the purge or cleaning station on the right where the printhead parks is jammed and can't move properly. If there is no paper stuck in there, you need a new purge assembly. about $30.00

SOURCE: Canon MX7600 error 5100, 5C20
Yes, 5100 means the carriage is not moving back and forth properly or there is grease on the encoder strip behind the carriage assembly. Grease spots make it lose count and slam into the side and grind gears. You need to clean the strip with a Q-tip moist with alcohol, but very carefully, not too much pressure on the strip.

Go into maintenance tab in the printer file.( Control panel, hardware and sound, printers, your printer, select printer preferences, maintenance) Select roller cleaning and follow instructions. That might help.
