Apple ipod 30g blinking screen

The ipod will not turn on or off. When I plug it into my computer to charge, It has a rapid white blinking screen and will not respond at all. I tried turning the hold switch on and off and then holding down the center and menu button at the same time, but still no response. Any sugestions. Thanks Craig

--please help. i pod 4gb silver has white screen. does not turn off i hear 2 beeps. it stays on with white screen. What do I do?

Hi leahschecter

***White Screen of Death***
This is probably caused by not allowing the firmware update to finish the installation before disconnecting the iPod.
Try these steps.
Reset the iPod:
1.Turn the Hold switch on, then back to off.
2.Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for 10 seconds (until the Apple logo appears).
3.You may need to repeat the reset several times.
If the reset doesn't help, then put the iPod into forced disk mode.
Put iPod into Disk Mode:
Apple suggests that you ensure your iPod is charged before following
the next step. How exactly you check a charge on an iPod screen that
is completely white has yet to be revealed. But hey, give it a shot
anyway. Plug the iPod into a high-powered USB port, let it sit for 2 hours, then disconnect it. If you have a wall charger, plug in the iPod, then follow these steps while it is still plugged in.
1.Turn the Hold switch on, then back to off.
2.Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears
3.Immediately switch your figures to press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until "Disk Mode" appears at the top.
For a lot of people, this solves the problem. Connect the iPod to the computer and (assuming it shows up) reset the iPod again to get it out of Disk Mode.
If at this point you still have the white screen,
restore the iPod using the restore function in iTunes under the Summary tab (this will erase everything on the iPod and put it at factory
settings).
Don't disconnect or eject the iPod until the store is totally done.
After you think it's done, wait another five minutes.

My ipod screen is blinking & won't turn on...even when I plug it into my comp. or hold down the buttons to restart it. it is a 5th gen. click wheel 30g

1. Try a 'Restore'. Connect your iPod with the cable that came with it to the USB port on your computer. In iTunes, click and (Restore). 2. It's possible that the hard drive is dying. Google "iPod repairs" in your country and you should be able to find someone who can fix it. The usually have a self diagnosis on line so will get an idea of the cost before you begin

White screen on my silver 120gb ipod classic

The white screen on Apple Products is never really a good thing.

You've probably heard of the blue screen of death(Windows) and the red ring of death(XBox), the white screen is referred to the white screen of death, normally not something you can recover from.

But try this anyway:

Reset the iPod:
  1. Turn the Hold switch on, then back to off.
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for 10 seconds (until the Apple logo appears).
  3. You may need to repeat the reset several times.
If the reset doesn't help, then put the iPod into forced disk mode.

Try this out: And let me know the status

  1. Before placing the iPod into disk mode, you should verify that it is charged.
  2. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  3. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.
  5. Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will change and say "Do not disconnect"
Then try restoring the ipod using Itunes...

80GB video ipod is not turning on.instead the apple symbol blinks

Connect the ipod to your computer and let it sit for about fifteen minutes. Then it should show up in your computer and under itunes. Usually, if your ipod dies completely, when you try to charge it using a wall or car charger, it will do that, just flashing the apple logo and going back off. Leaving it plugged up to the computer will allow the battery to charge just enough so that it can sync with itunes. While it is plugged into the computer and charging, it should say something like, battery very low, charging. It should work after letting it sit plugged up to the computer.
