Question about Atari Video Game Consoles & Games
When the unit is turned on, the busy light does not shut off. It stays on and the mechanism inside the 810 just keeps turning.

SOURCE: How to use xf551 disk drive.
Here's how these old suckers work. You have to have an old (latest - late 1980s) DOS-based PC with the proper attachment cable for such a drive. Preferably an ATARI computer. You have to leave the disk drive flip switch OPEN until DOS loads, or it will give you an error message. After the old clunk DOS-based computer is finished loading, THEN you can close the flip switch (with a floppy disk in, of course). I can't give you exact instructions b/c I don't know exactly what kind of ancient PC you have. Here is a link to an YouTube video showing you about what to expect :(1986 Tandy):
Have fun! These are real pains in the neck compared to what we have now.

This is probably the yellow light of death. This caused when the unit overheats causing the solder to bridge. Contact Sony to see if it is till under warranty.
