Question about Canon FAXPHONE L80 Laser

1 Answer

Incompatibility with Plantronics Head Set Base.

The jack attached to the cord that connects the handset to the faxphone is not typical of such cords and does not fit into the jack on the Plantronics head set base - it's slightly larger than the jack.

Is there some way to adapter the handset cord and input jack so that this faxphone can be used with a Plantronics haed set?

I have the head set connect and can hear the person speak, but the person can not hear me

First, you want to make sure all your connections are secure (the cord from the telephone handset to the base is crucial). Second, make sure the round compatibility dial located to the left of the base is set correctly (never between numbers and usually set to #1 for most phones). Third, oftentimes the wireless signal between the headset and base is compromised so a re-subscription is necessary to make a full connection. Here are the instructions:

I am trying to use a Plantronics CS70N headset with my Mitel 5215 IP Phone. I have the headset plugged into the headset jack on the back on the phone, but there is no head set button. Is there some...

First remove the headset cord from the headset jack. That is only used for corded headsets. Plug the short cord into the jack where the curly cord had been plugged into. The curly cord is now going to be plugged into the base of the charger where the picture is of a handset -- the curly cord goes there. There is a A/C adapter that is plugged in to base that is now plugged into the wall.

I HAVE A KX-T7633 AND IM TRYING TOGET MY PLANTRONICS CS55 TO WORK WITHOUT UN-HOOKING THE HAND SET

You can use the cord part number 78333-01. (I have included the link.) This will replace the cord that is plugged in between your CS55 charging base and the handset jack on your phone. It will plug into the base of the CS55 and the round headset jack on your phone. You will not have remote answer. Push the headset button on your phone and then press the headset button on the CS55 headset.

Dont know how to hook it up to phone...have S10A and S11 model plantronics corded headsets

Turn over the S11 base and insert the headset slot. This is at the top of the base. Remove the handset cord from your telephone base and plug into the handset jack (there will be a picture). Using the short cord that came with the S11, plug into the line jack on the back of your base and the other end into the slot on your telephone where you removed the handset cord. Plug the headset cord into the headset jack that is on your S11 base. Connect the the A/C power adapter to the S11 A/C jack and a wall outlet. Put on the headset. Press the handset/headset switch and pick up the handset off your telephone, set it aside to make calls. Slide the configuration switch (on the side of the S11 base) until you hear a clear dial tone.

Plantronics S11 head set does not work: hooked up properly, but non of the configuration setting yield tone. At one setting, only after the line goes into fast bipping mode (off hook for a long time) I can...

The Plantronics S11 headset system is meant to plug into the handset jack on your phone not the headset jack. Check the connection on the S11 to make sure the handset jack is where it is plugged into at.

Here are a few suggestions from Plantronics if you are not getting a dial tone:

Make sure all cable connections are correct and firmly in place.

Pay special attention that handset cord is properly connected.

Ensure AC power adapter is connected and power is on.
Make sure you have pressed the headset button and the headset indicator is on.

Make sure the telephone handset is off-hook.

Adjust listen volume control.

Adjust the compatibility slide switch.

Ensure that the headset is centered on your ear.

How do we complete a basic set up for Plantronic CS70 VT head piece?

Plug in powerpack to the base unit.
Unplug the handset with the curly cord from the phone and place both aside.
A short cord connects between the Handset socket on the PHONE and the PHONE socket on the BASE UNIT.(socket is near the power socket)
the HANDSET and curly cord plugs into the socket near the front of the base unit- it's the one that's extreemly hard to plug in!
Charge for 12 hours before use
Call someone and get them to stay on the phone while you turn the rotary knob (may need a screwdriver) on the side- keep turning it until you can hear each other
look for orange light as you hang it up to indicate that it's chaging

Done!
Good Luck!

Handsfree not working

Make sure that the phone cord that comes out of the back of the CS50 base plugs into the Handset port of the avaya telephone, not the headset port.  Then make sure the coily cord that comes out of the telephone handset is plugged into the front of the CS50 base.
It takes 1.5 hours to charge to 80% capacity, and 3 hours for a full charge.  You will know it's charged fully because the yellow blinking light on the front of the base will now be solid.

Callers can't hear me when I answer the phone

There could be many reasons for this problem.  It could be because of the installation or it may need a reset.  What type of phone is this installed on?  Is your configuration right?  Do you have a lifter?
In almost 100% of the cases, the cord that comes out of the back of the base unit should go into the handset jack of the phone, not the headset jack.  Then the handset's coily cord that normally plugs into that same jack should go into the front of the base unit.  This should work.

Have 2 t7316e nortel phones...i can hear the other person, but they can't hear me...tried swapping handset, but that didn't resolve the issue...any answers?

Look at the bottom of the set that is giving you troubles, check to see if the handset is plugged into the correct spot.

It should be plugged into the Handset jack not the headset jack.

This is a common mistake.
