    1. It was powered using the power cord ?
    2. Did you get a blue screen of death ?
3.When you try to power it back on, how far do you get.
    * Can you hear the fans
    * Get any lights whatsoever

You may be stuck with having to buy a new power cord, I would go to a best buy or some pc store and ask if they have universal power cords..Look on the back to see if any fit your laptop and ask if you can try it in store before you buy it, or purchase it and return if it still doesn't solve your problem.
Other than the cord the problem might be the mainboard which would require you shipping it to Sony to repair.

Computers typically shut down to protect damage to the machine.

1) Check to make sure your fans are running, if they are well that's great.
2) Attempt to clear the vents of any dust or debris as this may becausing your computer to overheat and shut down. Vacuums work for theoutside but you should always use compressed air if you open the unit.
4) If you can keep your computer running long enough, anti virus and anti ad aware scans work wonders. Ad-Aware 2008 and AVG Free edition are free.
3) You could be missing a key windows file, you'll need to tryrestoring the computer to an earlier time or reinstall the operatingsystem altogether.

But to really narrow this down more information is needed as stated by dontechcom or you could try each of these basic steps to try and remedy your problem.

Sony Vaio PCG-TR5GP Bios Password reset

There are 2 ways you can reset your bios2_bing.gif.

1. On the motherboard there is a small watch battery. Remove this battery along with the power cable from the power supply. Hold down the power button to fully discharge the system. Wait 2-3 minutes then reinstall the battery and plug in2_bing.gif your system. Your reset is now complete

2. Some motherboards have a 3 pin jumper by the battery. Lets say that the jumper is on pins 2 and 3. Remove the jumper while the machine is OFF and place onto pins 1 and 2. Power on your machine for a minute. (Note: Your system will not POST). Shutdown your machine and put the jumper back to pins 2 and 3. Your reset is now complete

This is a great troubleshooting2_bing.gif step for those of you having POST issues or no POSTing at all. Like other troubleshooting steps, this will not always work but usually will depending on the problem.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Sony notebook vgnn325e/w I was using the notebooke when it just shutdown and cannot be power up again. The computer is dead.

Your Mainboard moslty likley went bad and will need replacing. Check all the usuals. Is ther power lights when plugged in? Charge light o Battery?
Remove both of those and wait a while and put back in and try booting.

Remove any removable media like the CD drive. Also try powering on with the power adapter plugged in and the battery removed.

Installing new OS

Every laptop is accompanied by a preinstalled vesion of Windows, on the same hard disk in a hidden space. So if you get a prompt to restore your laptop to a previous state at the beginning of system startup, press the relevant key. If windows xp is your choice. and want to install it you may need follow the installation instruction from your system manufacturer. When the system starts up some information is displayed on the screen, like this: " Press F1 to enter setup" If you press the relevant key and enter the BIOS setup you can find the CPU temperature settings, shutdown temperature etc... This may not be you case. So I suggest you to get support from a qulified technician. Your system hardware should have some problem. (motherboard or hard disk is more prone to error) you can also try to find information from your system vendor's manuals and support website. All the best
