SOURCE: how difficult is it to replace the motor coupling

Here are some step by step instructions, They seem daunting, but what do you have to loose by trying yourself?
Accessing this part requires you to flip up the control panel by removing two phillips head screws in the front bottom corners of the constrol panel. Pull panel forward and lift to diengage the tabs at the bottom. Flip the panel upwards and it will swing back out of the way. Next you will see one wire connector going into the top of the machine, this is actually your lid switch connector, disconnect it. Now using a flat screwdriver pry the front of the two brass clips towards the rear of the washer (put tip of screwdriver into fron most part of clip and press handle of screwdriver towards rear of machine). The clips should pop off the top pretty easily.
Now you can open the lid and place a hand on the front of the opening and pull the cabinet forward. The entire front and side wrapper will come off the base platform and you can set it on the floor to gain access to the inside of the machine. The bottom front of the tub is where your pump and motor are located.
You will have to un-clip the pump from the motor and pull it off and out of the way, next remove the two screws that secure the motor clips to the transmission bracket. Disconnect the wires that go to the motor, and pop off the lower then upper motor mount clips- hold the motor because it will fall. Now you can replace the coupler. The coupler is pressed on to the motor shaft as well as the transmission shaft. You may need to use a flat blade screwdriver to pry off the old one and a socket larger than the shaft diameter held in place and tapped with a hammer to press the new ones on. Only press them on so far that the shafts are just flush with the coupler openings.
Good Luck!!

The pump may be failing. That's where the leak is coming from.

My Kitchen Aid clothes washer is leaking water from the bottom.

HI couple things to check, water hoses coming into washer, tip the washer back and look underneath and see if you can see where its coming from, most common leak on this one is the drain pump which is located right on the front of the motor, if you tip the washer back its a plastic pump with 2 big hoses going into it, they usually crack and leak water from there. They are only about $30.00 to buy.

I have a Kitchenaid washer model # KAWS750L, leaking at bottom

The most common leak in a KitchenAid washer is from the water pump. The easiest way to see is slightly tilt it up with a small load. If there are many clothes and water in the tub it will be to heavy. Get a light, and tilt the washer up a few inches. Prop it up with something even. Now, lay on the floor and as the washer is running watch for the water leak. The pump is at the front of the washer, directly in the middle. so it's only about 1-2 inches behind the front of the cabinet. I would be very surprised if it was anything but the pump.

The pump you will need is one of two. I've looked up your model number. After the KAWS750L there is either a Q or a T followed by a number. That letter and number make the difference. This pump can be bought for as low as $40 up to $70. It depends on the pump, and where you buy it from :)

Kitchen aid washing machine model #5850gq1,water leak

Well it depends on where the leak is coming from. If it's at the bottom its probably the pump. If its at the top it'll probably be the valve.. although this is much less likely.
