SOURCE: Need to replace fuel filter

Fuel filter is located inside the fuel tank. You have to make a hook out of about 10" of stiff wire (wire coat hanger works perfect) Hook end should be about 1/2" wide. Remove the fuel cap, insert the wire hook and snag the fuel supply tube with the filter attached to the end. Pull it back through the fuel filler opening, replace the filter and reinsert.

Stihl blower wouldn start, rebuilt carb it floods terribly. good compression. what did I screw up in the rebuild? I have rebuilt many carbs and they worked.

you have screwed up on the needle and seat assembly( probably dirt under the needle )

that is why it is flooding

as for the rest have you put the diaphragm on the correct side of the gasket

I have a riobi leaf blower. it will not start. i have changed the gas,gas filter, spark plug and rebuilt the carb. it still does not start. i took the muffler off to check the screen. it was full of gas....

The screen was full of gas? Or was that the intake filter? If the carb is moving this much fuel then I would check for spark. You said you replaced the plug but maybe it is the ignition module that is bad. You dumped the fuel first which is the best thing! Try starting with the intake filter off as well. See if the carb is spitting back out the intake. This is a sign the carb may have a checkvalve stuck open. Which will flood it like crazy and prevent starting as it fouls the spark plug. can dump all the fuel and just put enough in to make it sputter and see if that works. Then you know you have a carb issue without flooding it. Be safe and good luck!

Starts dies

Fuel lines could be collapsing from being soft, mush from ethanol in gas, possibly you have wrong carb kit, or something put together wrong, fuel lines reversed, double check everything then make sure you exhaust screen is not plugged, cause this will do same thing.

Echo pb251h. Blower will only stay running if i pump primer knob. Carb was rebuilt, changed fuel filter, checked exhaust port, insulater appears to be ok, compression test around 100psi,new fuel lines and...

when the carb was "rebuilt" Did you pull out the screen and clean it out and also did you pull needle and diaphragm out and clean it out good, because if the needle is not working or the neoprene tip is swollen your needle adjustment will be out of whack, sometimes carb cleaner will make it swell up to where it won't open enough to get fuel through it....suggest you replace the needle and adjust your height of the tab to flush with the body of carb and make sure you have a good diaphragm in it along with new check-valve diaphragm, then make sure your primer is hooked up right should be pulling fuel through the filter to carb and through carb and back to tank, your problem is definitely in the fuel system, keep trying different things you will figure it out

Assuming all gaskets and lines were installed properly, try priming it with a little gas directly into carb, or remove spark plug and put a little gas directly in cylinder and see if it picks it up. Sometimes for first start this is necessary.
