Your Mainboard moslty likley went bad and will need replacing. Check all the usuals. Is ther power lights when plugged in? Charge light o Battery?
Remove both of those and wait a while and put back in and try booting.

Remove any removable media like the CD drive. Also try powering on with the power adapter plugged in and the battery removed.

Well, as always, if theres warranty, then send it in after talking to technical support so they can give you a shipping address and other info. If not, then I would salvage the Hard Drive and any removable Memory from it and think about purchasing a new Laptop.

I know you want to fix it but usually the cost of a new mother board is close to what it cost to just buy a new one.

You could try selling the laptop on ebay to recover some of your cost. I have done this. I had one that the Mobo burnt out and i sold it for spare parts. the hard drive and keyboard and screen and plastic fram are worth more individually rather than as a whole, especially to other people who want to buy just thos parts.

I would suggest finding out how much a new Mother board would cost, Then consider what you want to do.

Look on E-bay to see if others are selling theres for parts, maybe you will get lucky and find a used board that works, plus get an idea on how much others are selling them for scrap for.

The screen and Keyboard will get you the most money as those are the most expensive to replace from the manufacturer

Pc wont shutdown to restart after windows updates

At this point you'll want to hard boot the computer and hope it completes when you power it back on.

Hold the power button down for 5-7 seconds and the computer should lose power. Leave it off for 30 seconds and then power it back on. It should resume the updating again.

My Sony Laptop is stuck, not reboot nor shutdown,

Hey there, when your computer completely freezes while still being on you simply have to remove the power cable and pull out the battery. Then put the battery and/or power cable back in. When you start up your computer again it will say your computer wasn't shut down properly, simply select "start windows normally" and everything should be fine again.

Where is the reset button on a HP 4415s pro note book

There is no reset button for notebooks. In order to reset, you need to shutdown your notebook. To do so, either use shutdown option in your operating system. If you want to power off directly, hold down power button for 5s. It will turn off immediately. Now turn on again.

My desktop shutdown after several minutes, reboot it again but it shutdown again. reboot again but same thing happen, pc shutdown. what is the problem?

That's like stating my car was going down the road, then suddenly died. What is the problem?

Open the hood, take a look. Maybe it's something obvious.

Same thing with a computer.

1) Computer unplugged from power, open the computer case. See if the Processor fan is dirty, and the computer case fan/s.

If so use a can of compressed air for computers, and clean.

[NOTE*
BEFORE you reach inside your unplugged from power computer, observe Anti-Static Precautions ]

2) See if there are Electrolytic Capacitors on the motherboard.
Bad capacitors for the motherboard voltage regulator circuit, will cause rebooting.

The electricity went out for about 2 hours. When it came back on, the computer would not turn on. No lights, no beeps, just dead. My router runs through that computer, and it is still working. Is it...

Remove all cards (Modem, NIC) from the motherboard. Remove all Hard drive and floppy connectors including the DVD/CD drives.

Unplug the power to the motherboard from the P/S.

Remove the RAM (watch out for any static discharge, ground yourself if possible).

Once everything has been removed, reconnect the P/S to the motherboard and then see if it powers up. It should sound off a few beeps because there is no RAM installed, but it is a step in the right direction.

Once this occurs, you know your power supply is providing power to the motherboard. Shutdown the computer once again.

Now put the RAM back in and power the system up again. You should be able to go into the BIOS at this point.

Shutdown once again and then connect the hard drive as well as the dvd drives. This will allow you to boot into windows.

The add-on cards (modem, nic and etc) should be added once the system seems to boot up ok.

Good luck

God Bless

My Vaio all-in-one JS just went dead yesterday and we can't turn it on. Any sugestions?

~ Condensation = You might need to unplug the AC Power and the Power from the wall. Wait about (approx. a day [if it's bad] or an hour). Replug back, see if it works.

~ Did you add or remove any components to the computer? If you did, revert it to normal.

~ If you recently plugged into an external monitor (like a projector or tv). Plug it on your computer and check if it works.

~ Make sure everything inside the computer is working normally.

Those are my 4 suggestions, if those don't work, let me know ASAP.
Good Luck!

Won't boot up! :o(((

There is nothing you can do mate. The motherboard has a problem and with a notebook you can't simply replace the motherboard with another one, notebook motherboards are all custom fit to that specific computer.

You could spend many days troubleshooting components even if you had in-depth knowledge of computers and still get nowhere. Your symptoms indicate the computer is not even passing the POST most times, which is the most basic Power On Self Test that every computer performs upon initial power up. If it will not pass this test either you have a corrupted BIOS, some BIOS setting is wrong, or you have a hardware problem. If you CAN get into the BIOS you can try to load the default settings, but the diagnostic technician should have already done that.

Sorry for the bad news Sue, if you want suggestions on what computer to replace yours please post back.

WHAT IS THE RESET BUTTON ON THE BOTTOM SIDE OF MY COMPAQ PRESARIO 2500 SPECIFICLY DO. IN OTHER WORDS IF I PUSH IT WILL I LOSE ALL MY STORED INFORMATION ON THE DRIVE?

This is straight from the manual:

Occasionally, Windows or the notebook might stop responding, so that you cannot turn the notebook off. If this happens, try the following in the order listed. Press the power button to restart.
• If possible, shut down Windows: press ctrl+alt+del, and then select Shut Down > Restart.
If the system will not allow a software shutdown, press and hold down the power button until the display shuts down (about 4 seconds) and then release the power button. Press the power button again to restart.
• Use a ballpoint pen or a straightened paper clip to press the reset button on the bottom of the notebook.

In other words: You will not loose any saved data if you reboot your laptop this way. All unstored information (open documents etc.) might be lost though.

Sony Vaio VGC-RB576 motherboard fried

if you have problems with outages and surges, then the only way to protect electrical goods is by purchasing a surge protection socket extension. But you should check that your power options in control panel are set that on the shutdown drop down list the pc lists shut down and does not say restart. Also go into bios F2 or Del on boot up and look and see if time and date are correct, if not then the cmos battery needs changing (Cr2032 disc chaped on motheroard) then in advanced cmos settings, then look for 'ACPI', make sure this is enabled so as to support windows shutdown settings, then save settings and exit for a reboot.
