JWIN DVD player horizontal control

DVDs played fine until recently, then the screen began to flip horizontally, even when no DVD loaded, the JWIN screen flips continuously, makes me wish for the predigital age when I could turn a knob to control the horizontal flip. Regular TV programs and VCR works fine. All advice is welcome, even if it is to junk the DVD player. Thanks

Power ON DVD, horizontal lines running on the TV screen. How do I get the horizontal lines to stop running and for me to view the screen to possible reset the DVD player.

Check video plugin to see if connect good on both tv and dvd player. You might try unplugging and re plug. If that doesn't help you might try another plug wire not sure if you have rca or HDMI plugs.

Dvd's aren't fitting my screen, the sides and top/bottom is being cut of. I've tried the display menu, zoom, and making it widescreen, and it doesn't work.

Are you playing wide-screen movies on a 4x3=1.33:1 (standard=SD) TV? DVD output by default is SD. Even 16x9=1.78:1 (HD) movies with have top and bottom bars. Many "wide-screen" DVDs are squeezed horizontally so that you have to stretch them. Many theatrical releases are up to 2.7:1 or so. Side bars indicate you have the DVD output set for 4x3 and your TV is HD-like. There are usually controls for the screen format on HD TVs--no controls on SD TV. Hey, early movies were 1:1--take them side bars. More on aspect ratio (AR) in Wiki, I bet. With letterbox of SD you can get "pillar box" with black on all 4 side. Get a better source and/or choose a different AR. -Ken

Playing movies from ipod

Usually, the iPod videos are in MP4 and MOV format, while, the DVD player can't play video in MP4 and MOV format but DVDs. Therefore, you need to convert your iPod video into DVD so that it can be played by DVD player. I am now using this Wondershare DVD Converter Studio which works fine. It can convert video to DVD, convert between almost all kinds of video and convert DVD into video. If you want to have a try, you can free download it at:
Hope that helps.

Denon 3910 won't load some dvds/cds and vibrates while trying.."disc error"!

I have the Denon 2900 (about 4 years of use) and until recently, suffered from the same (growing) problem. CD's were very difficult to start/read. I recently found advice which I tried and was succesful with. It was manually cleaning the laserlens. I took away the outer housing by unscrewing all off the on top (6), side (4) and the back (2) bolts. After that I took out the top plate of the laserunit which took two very little screws taking out. Now you are looking at the cd-tray with the lens. Take a very soft and clean cloth and moisten it a little bit with clean water (be very carefull with the moistening, don't allow any waterdrop to come out of the cloth into the laserlens while cleaning! Carefully clean the lens and dry it with a dry part of the same cloth. Replace the top plate and the outer housing and the player will recognize the discs like it's new again. Good luck!
