PC not recognizing monitors or keyboard

The keyboard is not being recognized either so I cannot do this. I have plugged in two different monitors and two keyboards, neither work but they work on another PC.

My ET1161 computer won't recognize my monitor how can i find out whats wrong?

1) Please make sure the monitor is on and securely plugged in both the monitor and the back of the computer.
2) make sure that you are using the right input in the back of your computer for your monitor as some computers have an internal video card and external. Please test the monitor on both connections.
3)If possible please test the monitor with a different computer to make sure the monitor itself is functioning.

PS2 Mouse , Keyboard. LPT Printer , Scanner. Have These Problems

If there are PS2 connectors be sure you put the keyboard in the keyboard and the mouse in the mouse socket. There should be symbols next to the connectors. USB connectors will identify themselves so they do not care where they are plugged in.
Printers and scanners not using a USB connector will require that you tell the computer what is there. Using an adapter for USB on the old cables does not mean that the hardware will be recognized.
These issues are identical to those on a desk top PC as far as recognition and setup.
Some older laptops may require the BIOS to be set to use different hardware. The BIOS will have a list of options for internal or external hardware. P4 systems should be fully automated to recognize the items.

PC not recognizing monitors or keyboard

Try flashing the bios, which is found as step 3 on the flowing website. here.
If that does not work, make sure the connectors are not damaged, and ensure that all internal components, especially power cables, are properly seated.

Compaq Presario SR1920NX will not enter boot process

From your description, the BIOS is not recognizing any drives or does not hand off from BIOS to a bootable drive.

Start off by simplifying the system down to keyboard monitor and power cable. Remove *everything* else.

If no boot, unplug power cable, monitor and keyboard. Hold power button in with no power for 15 seconds. This may clear a corrupt BIOS. Reconnect and see if it boots.

If no boot, unplug power again and on the power supply somewhere near where you plug in the power cord look for a small recessed voltage selector. Flip it to 250 then flip back to 115 (these are approximate numbers and may be slightly different on your system). Your system may not even have a voltage selector switch.

If still not booting or no drives are being recognized, we can open the case if you feel comfortable with that.

I have talked a grandmother through replacing a mother board over the phone so we can do this if you want to give it a shot.
