Without the memory card , only with the internal memory there is still the same problem. Without the memory card , only with the internal memory there is still the same problem.

This indicates an output load problem, turn receiver off! remove speaker wires from the back of the unit, power on and turn the volume right down, if the word protect stays off it means there is a short in the speaker wires or one or more of the speakers. Now! if the word protect comes back on with "speakers and wires dis-connected" it indicates a short in the audio output ic's, this will require a tech to find out how many channels have been compromised and cost involved.
samsung is awful. i only used my camera a handful of times and then same problem with the protection mode. since its out of warranty i have to pay for the repair. they told me that it has never ever been a reported issue, so being that said i have to pay for repair on a faulty part. (I literally used this camera 10 times most since i bought it 4 years ago) they are horrid! not to mention how long it took me to get anywhere. they hung up on me 3 times, and I also kept getting disconnected! I will never own another samsung again!
Take the card out. There's a little switch on the card to write-protect it and stop you recording over important stuff. Move the switch to the other position.
Happy recording!
SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
I finally figured this out. The problem is that the software files on the camera are locked. To see this, open a Finder window and view the contents of the FlipVideo device. Click "Get Info" on most any of the files. Note that the "Locked" checkbox is checked.
Solutions: 1) You can go through all the files and Unlock them. It is hard to get all of them. 2) Create a folder "old" on the camera. Move all of the files (except DCIM and Info.bin) to the "old" folder (in case Step 4 fails). You may have to unlock them to move them. 3) Go to /Applications and right-click on FlipShare. Choose "Show Package Contents". Go to Resources/Upgrade. 4) Copy all the contents of the Upgrade folder to the Camera. That's what the upgrade program was trying to do.
After that, try the camera to make sure it works. After you are sure, you can delete the "old" folder.
If you are trying to record to a tape and the display shows
"Protection", you must slide the protection tab at the top of the tape
to the "Rec" position.
Hello,
